Probably get killed for saying this but it was a SOLID homestand 5-2... 2 GB not too shabby... Now we got to go 4-2 on the road trip.. RVH needs to be sent to NOLA.. Get Sanchez back inthe rotation... Hopefully the Nats can get hot @ home against the Rox!

Hopefully this happens. Does anyone know when Anibal's next rehab start will be? I am guessing that our fifth starter will be scheduled for next Saturday.

I loved how we approached the plate in the first game and am absolutely horrified by our approaches in the second. We could've easily won the second game...what was it 15 men LOB??!!!!

While we did take the series and won game 1 of the double-header, we should have won that game and take the wild card lead. I'm not sure how many we left on base, but it had to have been at least 13. Oh well, lets take care of business in Houston and keep winning series!

the team had 13 LOB....HRamirez had 6....JCantu 5....WHelms 5 also....in many situations we needed that elusive xbh....

Before this series, Rox hit over .300 in August as a WC leader.

Absolutely agree, on the other hand double-headers are not easy to win.

 

It was a nice shot at the WC though, but other chances will be there for taking.

As stated, doubleheaders are nearly impossible to win. I am glad we took 2 of 3, and it is still a nice boost to this team. However, we left a ton of men on base the 2nd game, we couldn't get an extra base hit, and VandenHurk confirmed the worries about our starting rotation. I still curse thy name of Andrew Miller, because he never became what he was supposed to be, putting us in this position with our starting pitching.

 

We are only 2 back in the wild card, and we still have a few games against the Phillies left, so no matter what we still control our own destiny. I'll guess that we will probably need to have 88 wins at seasons end in order to make the playoffs.

 

Also, for everybody who is wondering, Anibal Sanchez is getting the start for the AA affiliate Jacksonville Suns tomorrow.

Game 2: Choking with men on never helps and that is all we pretty much did. Then again, our starter didn't look so great either. RVH needs to be sent down.

Have to give it to Cody though, he did have like, what, 6 hits today? That was nice to see.

 

Winning the series was the most important thing though. If we keep doing that, I feel like we can make the playoffs.

 

I hope Anibal Sanchez can give us a really strong showing in September. Having a strong rotation again is what really will help our push. As well as having Maybin up too (and possibly even Morrison).

 

Hopefully Nick Johnson will be ready to play Tuesday. We need his presence in the lineup.

I don't think RVH pitched that bad today. For what it's worth, when Anibal comes up, I think West needs to go down. Not RVH.

He didn't give up many hits, but considering most were homers....it cost us the game. I'd say that's pretty bad, and I'm sure RVH would say so himself.

The Marlins have been very fun to watch lately, even the losses.

 

Hanley is starting to put up some amazing numbers. If we win the Wild Card, he should get a few MVP nods.

If we remain in the pennant run, I don't want to see Miller anywhere near Dolphin Stadium.

 

He's my favorite and all but it might be best to leave him in the Minors in case we have a chance at the playoffs.
