It's pretty sparse now that so many people have gotten called up to Jacksonville. A -- Greensboro Greensboro 3, Greenville 4 Isaac Galloway - RF: 1-3, RBI, SO Thomas Hickman - LF: 3-4, HR, 2RBI, 2 2B, R, SO Brad Hand - SP: 6.1IP, ER, 10K, BB, 2H, R So, what's the consensus on Hickman? He had decent numbers in rookie league this year, but then struggled after the call-up to Jupiter and he's been killing the ball in the nine games he's been in Greensboro. If you all don't think he's post-worthy, just say so. Short Season A -- Jamestown Jamestown 3, Aberdeen 9 Kyle Jensen - LF: 0-4, SO The same question for Jensen. He's been in Jamestown all year, but he's hitting pretty well. What do you all think? Rookie League -- Marlins Game Postponed: RAIN
August 17, 200915 yr Author Great game by Brad Hand. Where the hell is Kyle Skipworth? The Greensboro site says he's still on the 7-day DL and still hasn't played since the 6th. That's all I can tell you man, I really don't know where to get this info. The Greensboro site really doesn't have much and I couldn't find any type of message board for the team. I'll keep trying though!
August 17, 200915 yr No, you don't have to. I'm the one bitching about it, so I'll try to find out who kidnapped him.
August 17, 200915 yr Hickman strikes out way to much, but has the 'tools' and plate recognition to succeed if he can ever raise his contact rates.

August 18, 200915 yr Nice game by Anibal. How come he was lifted in the fourth inning? He threw 45 pitches. Was that his pitch count, or did he leave with an injury? EDIT: Never mind, just read on the site that he was scheduled to throw 50 pitches.
August 18, 200915 yr Just giving Miami Fan a shoutout. Even if there aren't a bunch of comments each day, we are looking and appreciating your compilations. Also, Logan is amazing.

August 19, 200915 yr Logan and Stanton have an off night, and Dominguez picks up the slack. Those 3 are going to have one another's backs for years to come.
August 19, 200915 yr Tommy Mendoza pitched against the Marlins AAA team, tonight. Kid from Monsignor Pace High School...my brother was his coach; he's now one of the Angels top prospects. We were listening to the game, and he had the Marlins AAA team scoreless through 4, but NO scored like 4 in the 5th, I think.
August 19, 200915 yr Yeah, Mendoza debuted with Trip-A Salt Lake tonight. I get to see most of the Angels prospects come through here in SLC, and it has been quite a group over the last few years. I watched Adenhart pitch for most of last year (bless his family). Judging by his low ERA at Double-A at age 21, Mendoza will be a good one, Erick.
August 19, 200915 yr Peterson 2-3 with a triple and 2 walks. Keep it up dude. :thumbup Would be great if he & Cousins could both be possibilities for the outfield alongside Maybin & Stanton.

We were listening to the game, and he had the Marlins AAA team scoreless through 4, but NO scored like 4 in the 5th, I think. If I'm not mistaken I remember that name and him dropping a bomb off of one of my friends. Was he a good hitter in HS because I'm pretty sure it was him.
August 19, 200915 yr DeSalvo pitched his first game as a Marlins last night for NO. Pitched 5 innings giving up 4 hits, no runs, and getting 5 Ks.
August 20, 200915 yr Peterson 2-3 with a triple and 2 walks. Keep it up dude. :thumbup Would be great if he & Cousins could both be possibilities for the outfield alongside Maybin & Stanton. You have to be concerned with the lack of XBH, but everything else looks good. Could be a really interesting L/R platoon with those two by 2011. If they could average .260/.325/.450, plus Cousins well above average defense and good SB potential, that's a really good situation.

I'm not sure if he was ever a hitter in high school. You might be thinking of "Nene" Marrero or Adrian "The hit doctor" Cardenas...Pace has had a lot of good players over the years. Gio Gonzalez, currently pitching for the A's, spent a year at Pace, as well. Pace was actually undefeated the year he was there, and then his mom had a fight with the coach; Gio left the team, and they lost the first game in districts, which sucked for them. And I just totally went off-topic...lol.

He also was a pretty good hitter, hitting .459 with 5 home runs. He was selected in the 5th round (163rd overall).

August 20, 200915 yr Is elih villanueva a legit prospect? he has been amazing this year. does anyone have a scouting report on his stuff? im thinking since he is so under the radar that he is just a guy dominating younger hitters sort of like jeff allison. any help would be great, thanks.

Not that good of a spec. More of a control junkballer, which owns young hitters in A ball but doesn't normally do well in the majors. With his age, and the fact that FSL is such a pitchers league, his season is not impressive in a spec perspective. How he does in the upper minors will more so impact his spec status. Think Graham Taylor.
