Before the Season Began...

Recommended Posts

Only 2 starts into the season so not much to go by yet, but sure why not?

Certainly not as shocking as it would be if it were Anibal or Robertson (or Miller or West had they been in the rotation).

Even Nolasco was Jekyll & Hyde last season.

Don't forget Volstad was awfully good in '08. Yes there was some luck, but really if all our pitchers are cruising he should be a pretty darn good #3.

Nothing would have surprised me.

Johnson had a weak spring and a weak end of 2009. A slow start in 2010 wouldn't have been too surprising. This means that it would be a toss up out of the other four starters who had the best first two starts.

Coghlan's slow start doesn't surprise me either. A bit of a sophomore slump was inevitable and Coghlan started off slowly in the MLs last year too.

This doesn't mean that they won't have good seasons, though.
