August 28, 201015 yr I might sound pessimistic here, and miracle runs do happen, but I'm on the "gave up after Reds swept us and am not ready to jump back on" bandwagon. Na I'm with ya... it's highly improbable. I'm aware that it's possible. But I'm more than expecting a fail. If they sweep like... the next two series... I'll reconsider. But the trend right now seems to be Mr. Roller Coster. Win 3, lose 3. So we'll see what happens. The Marlins would need to sweep this series (2-0), win both series against the Braves (4-2), win both series agianst the Phillies (5-2), and play good ball for the rest of the season (12-6), So we need to see about 23-10, realistically, with help from other teams. Possible? Yes. Looking at the Marlins track performance thus far? Eh.
August 28, 201015 yr I can't imagine jumping all those teams in the wild card. I think our only chance is if we win the next 8 games with the Braves, while also going on a miracle run in general, while the Phillies slow down.

August 28, 201015 yr My hopes have definately slightly raised over the past 10 days however I still can be realistic and doubt our chances of making it to the playoffs. I can't see numerous other rival teams struggling till the end of the season like they have the past week and ultimately we will most likely come up short. However it should be fun to watch the Marlins from here on in as they are more relaxed of late. I just realized Marlins have to go 25-10 rest of way to finish 90-72. It can happen, but I won't hold my breath. Although if team can sweep Braves, then I believe it can happen. Two out of three won't do it, sweep in Atlanta is cruical.
August 28, 201015 yr I also feel the Div will be easier to win. I have never given up but have conceded to the fact it will take nothing short of a miracle run to make the playoffs.
August 28, 201015 yr 8 out of 10 is a good start. Do that again and then it might get interesting. Even if they don't make it though, if guys like Logan and Maybin and Volstad finish out the year strong it should give this group a ton of confidence going into next season.
August 28, 201015 yr This team has been a real tease. What would things have been like if we got rid of cantu sooner or brought up lomo sooner? I'd like to see any playoffs but now I am concerned we r going to mess up ricky worse. I think we should shut him down and take our chances.
August 28, 201015 yr I'm still in on this season....... barely. However, every time I've spewed optimism, things have gone horribly wrong afterwards, so I'm keeping it low key and seeing how that works (I'm mildy superstitious even if I know it's nonsense).

August 29, 201015 yr I, for one, am not thinking about it..I just want to enjoy the final games this season and see us win. If we somehow manage to beat the division or get to the wild card, I'll be extremely happy (as you all would be) but I'm not going to think about it because I don't want to give my hopes up. If not this year, let's do it next year!
