Posted September 12, 201014 yr Marlins win and sweep the Nats, 6-5 W: Sanches (1-2) L: Zimmermann (0-1) S: Hensley (3) 2B: D Uggla (27) HR: M Stanton 2 (20) Boxscore: http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=300912120&teams=florida-marlins-vs-washington-nationals
September 12, 201014 yr Sweep!!! Hard to say who should be FOTG today. Bullpen did a great job holding a one run lead for us. Both Mike Stanton and Boni had a 3 hit game but Stanton had two home runs! Great to see Stanton hitting so well and out of his slump. Also great to see Boni hitting well and playing good defense. Uggla did well on defense today also with two really nice plays. Also the squirrel that hung out on the scoreboard for half the game also had my vote heh.
September 12, 201014 yr Hard vote, but I had to go with the bullpen. Bonifacio and Stanton can pop their collars on the flight back to Florida though. Great game for both
September 12, 201014 yr So is JJ being shut down? I want to know if it's safe to drop him from my fantasy team... :whistle edit: Oh, and nice win!

September 12, 201014 yr Didn't see the game today - was there any noticable hostility when Morgan came up to bat against Volstad?
September 12, 201014 yr Didn't see the game today - was there any noticable hostility when Morgan came up to bat against Volstad? Observations -No hostility everything seemed professional. Why wasnt Uggla charged with an error after the dropped tag on the basestealer being thrown out and then should have been an unearned run? Several cheap hits off Volstad. Zimmerman will keep hitting Volstad as long as he makes bad pitches to him. Stanton is a beast. Marlins sweep!
September 12, 201014 yr Saw the game in person. First time seeing Stanton live. He is sick! Though my friends and I were laughing at how he seemed to stop when Pudge got him ni the rundown, like he was confused. Volstad...eh. Didn't seem like he could make the pitch he needed to when it was necessary. I groaned when he walked Dunn after getting ahead of him 0-2. Laid down a nice bunt though. I was very impressed with the BP today. They had a lot of nice strikeouts. September 13, 201014 yr Stanton has now hit 20 HR's in each Jax and the Show this season!!! He looks to be on a hot streak, amazing how that usually happens on the road. Nice pix Beerman
September 13, 201014 yr I voted for the SQUIRREL!! Actually I could have voted for anyone of them so since we had an uninvited but extremely entertaining guest, I voted for him
September 13, 201014 yr I voted for the SQUIRREL!! Actually I could have voted for anyone of them so since we had an uninvited but extremely entertaining guest, I voted for him :lol he was our good luck charm and now our unofficial mascot. Plus, he left the Mets a nice surprise..er on the scoreboard that is Oh and I forgot about Uggla dropping the ball, that was unfortunate. We did make some mistakes defensively but not as much as the Nationals. It was a pretty decent game although Volstad could've kept the score lower for us. Normally, one run game wins are hard to come by with our bullpen, which is why it was pretty great for our bullpen to come in and keep the lead.
September 13, 201014 yr Didn't see the game today - was there any noticable hostility when Morgan came up to bat against Volstad? Actually, Morgan had this expression on his face when he got his first base hit off Volstad as he stood at first. Although I don't know what "game face" Morgan usually has when he plays so anyone else out there that might've noticed can correct me if I'm wrong. Just seemed a bit like a "take that" look. Although Entendu101 said he might've saw Morgan mutter something when he got the hit, but I forgot what he said he thought Morgan said. Other than that, no brawl..no bloodshed...

At times the scoreboard was flashing all kinds of colors and yet it didn't seem to disturb him. I thought that would chase him away, but maybe he did this climbing all the time. Obviously the crowd noise didn't disturb him.

There weren't many fans there, period. Though some fans around me, while not exactly cheering the Fish, were giving us props.

September 13, 201014 yr Author 4.1 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, 6 K's. Bullpen pitched really well today. 4 of those K's were from Sanches alone.
September 13, 201014 yr Btw, for those of you that didn't see the whole game or any of it for that matter, Mike came about 5 feet away from hitting his 3rd HR of the day.
September 13, 201014 yr I gave FOTG to Mikey but man, Emilio has been really good so far. I wonder if they'll just alternate giving people days off after today to keep him in the lineup. If only he could hit last season.
