gizmo
Marlins lose a close one, 3-2. Damn you Infante.

Iowa
Nice outing by Anibal. Lots of excuse me singles by Philly. No timely hitting by the Fish. Tough loss.. but a good road trip. Time to sweep the Pirates
gizmo
Look at the bright side, we haven't lost a series since the opening one vs the Mets.
Hotcorner
yeah hard to find any single play that hurt as much as the Infante gidp in the 7th.
canada-marlin24
f***! These types of games drive me insane. of course an error is what we lose by and when infante blew that golden chance you knew we were in trouble. funny how infante never had any problems getting those hits against us. CyggyMarlin
This game pissed me off...Thought we had it the first time there were 2 on for Omar
Mephisto
I thought edwin should have gone for the squeeze in the 7th, with Infante up and boni on 3rd and one out, and cogs should at least being running there. Infante needs to be move down on the order, the guy wont repeat the year he had last year, Gaby/Lomo should be hitting second.
gizmo
Just think how good our offense can be when Stanton, Infante, and Hanley aren't struggling anymore.
TrustN61
Might be time to move omar lower in the order. Move lomo up there
GoFishGoMs628
Anibal started slow but recovered nicely... Bullpen was great as usual Webb was just unlucky with some dink and donks... Hitting needs to be more consistent throughout the entire game. Hanley's double where Stanton couldn't move him over comes to mind. Infante had a chance to give the Marlins the lead with 1 out and a man on 3rd and at the end of the game disappointed he wasn't able to get them in, but thats the way it goes sometimes. Marlins playing great baseball you have to be excited.
mystikol87
They called Infante a professional hitter on the Phillies broadcast. So, the professional hitter swings at the first-pitch, IIRC to hit into a double play in one AB. Then, in his other AB he makes it a point to get away from a ball that he should have plainly let hit him - it wasn't even a fastball! lol The first pitch of the last AB also looked high to me, but whatever. The lefty/lefty thing doesn't bother me much, so I'd put LoMo up there, but Gaby is a fine choice, too. Let Infante figure things out and earn that spot in that lineup. Iowa
Anibal's fastball looked great. Hopefully the springboard to a great year
CyggyMarlin
With Hanley's speed, would a move to 2nd spot in the line-up benefit him at all? Have Cogz, Hanley, LoMo, Mikey, Gaby, Buck, 3B, Omar, P? Hanley might see better pitches with LoMo behind him, LoMo would have Mikey behind him...LoMo is showing better power than to have him bat 2nd... I get lomo hitting 5th for two reasons: 1. to split the lefties 2. hes shown more power this year.
CyggyMarlin
On another note, Fish need to start scoring runs earlier on a more consistent basis, tough to keep winning ballgames when you have to crawl back from early deficits
GoFishGoMs628
On another note, Fish need to start scoring runs earlier on a more consistent basis, tough to keep winning ballgames when you have to crawl back from early deficits +1 How many times have the Marlins started out with a lead besides the most recent game against the Braves which was then given right back in the bottom of that inning. Mephisto
1. coghlan 2. sanchez 3. morrison 4. hanley 5. stanton 6. who cares I like that you have a platoon of Dobbs-Helms batting 6th followed by Buck and Infante. On another note, Fish need to start scoring runs earlier on a more consistent basis, tough to keep winning ballgames when you have to crawl back from early deficits I think thats because they were facing Oswalt and Hamels. I´m not worried about that.

Erick
On another note, Fish need to start scoring runs earlier on a more consistent basis, tough to keep winning ballgames when you have to crawl back from early deficits +1 How many times have the Marlins started out with a lead besides the most recent game against the Braves which was then given right back in the bottom of that inning. Of the 8 wins, 6 have been comeback wins, and this is the first one run loss of the year. They are now 4-1 in one run games. The loss sucks, but I don't mind it that much. Still a 5-3 road trip, and 3-2 against the Braves and Phillies. If anything, I'm just kinda pissed that Ryan Webb gets a loss for this; he was really good, again. Mephisto
Thats true, That can be fixed by rearranging the lineup, guys who get on base at near or over a .400 clip should be at the top....
Erick
By the way, the coaching deserves some blame for this loss. Why was Wes Helms playing for a bunt in the bottom of the 8th inning with the 5th hitter up? What are the odds that Ben Francisco bunts in that situation? I didn't understand that. And of course, grandpa Wes has no range. Bonifacio should be getting more playing time. 1. Coghlan 2. Hanley 3. LoMo 4. Stanton 5. Gaby 6. Infante 7. Buck 8. Pitcher 9. Bonifacio I wish Edwin would try that to see what happens. Bonifacio gets to that ball today in the 8th inning. He also gets to other balls that got by Wes Helms today. Probably even gets to the little bloop single Ryan Howard got because Bonifacio outruns the ball. If you put him hitting 9th, his .OBP won't hurt the top of the order, and he's a huge plus whenever he gets on base in the bottom of the order.
