So in no order, our 4 starters going into Phillies series are Anibal, Hand, Vazquez, and Volstad?

Hand's not pitching in that series; he pitched yesterday.

2009 team was 2 games from the playoffs, and they lost several more games before they came out of it. 32-35 was how far we dropped this late in the season. and if u remember may 2009 was much worse then this little stretch.

So Anibal and 3 BP throwers

The bright side is that Stanton hit one foul tonight, which really entertained me because it was definitely more than 500 feet.

Galarraga-like. Upper deck and barely foul. It had to be the longest ball hit at Sun Life this year. I couldn't believe that there were no replays of that shot. What was the FSN control booth thinking?

That it was a foul ball and meant nothing.

Hanley at lead-off, Boner in CF, Coghlan on the bench indefinitely....

I wouldn't have a problem with this if Cousins got sent down and Peterson was called up.

What are petersens numbers in the majors, I haven't been too impressed with everything iv seen from him the last two years but that could be because nothing really stuck out to me when he was here.

He literally has like 3 hits, maybe 4. AAA Numbers aside, he and Cousins are basically the same player at this level as long as they're on the same bench role.

I agree, there's still "time" if we start playing the way we did in April and May... but the pain here, at least to me, is that we fell so far from ten games above .500. This sudden inconsistency has put us in a hole that we didn't need to be in. The point of 2011 was, don't fall in the hole that the May 2009 fish did... and don't fall in the bullpen hole that the 2010 Fish did... and we should be soooo much better this year. Well, now you see what has happened.

Cousins has always been considered a better fielder, and Petersen a better hitter.

Not taken into account his recent slump, Cousins sticks out to me as having better at bats, especially last year, granted he had more chances to start at the end of the year.

This is just from memory and not based off any statistical analysis.

in the minors Petersen usually hits for a little better average & strikes out less, but not as much power as Cousins. He's a good outfielder and like Cousins has good speed.

he's having a good year in AAA.... .337/.433/.560/.992
