The wrath of Loria, to scourge what part of the team?

 = Eduardo Perez

Hopefully on Billy the Marlin or actually right on Eduardo Perez. What a joke. Minds well ask Karl Ravech to take over after Jack flees the hotel in the middle of the night.

I really don't see coaches getting fired, the GM or Team President. If anything I see the Marlins pulling the plug on this season, getting rid of veterans Dobbs, Vasquez, Lopez, Wise and please God! Helms.

Turning to the kids like Dominguez, Hayes and Cousins and seeing if they belong in the teams long range plans.

Its so refreshing to see a newcomer to the boards turning sour on the team so soon :thumbup

I tried, but last night broke me. Don't get me wrong, I will still be Cheering for Victory, but I have lost hope in this season. October & free agency can't come quick enough.

Please Mr. Loria spend this off-season, even if its just one year, do it for the stadium next year?

I know, how dumb does that move look now?

Vaz has a no trade clause...he is with team for rest of season...

Correct, and to be honest... he's no longer our biggest problem. I kinda miss the days when he was the most we had to be upset about.

One guy I would like to see the rest of the way is Hayes. It would be great if we could ship off Buck and see what we have in this kid.

Step forward Jeff Conine. Player manager and hitting coach. Sorry Eduardo its been real it's been fun it just hasn't been real fun.

Pfft, like Jeff Conine will help this sorry excuse for an offense. It's not rocket science. Just hit the damn ball!

Well, "just hit the ball" isn't exactly easy to do. However, since these guys are paid to do it, it is a bit upsetting to see this prolonged slump since they're more expected to do this ... maybe we can pull an early-2000 A's and explode in the 2nd half.

It's easier than they're making it look, for supposed professionals "loaded with talent" that is.

They're also a very young team that needs to learn to make adjustments, otherwise this slump will never end. Last season, I noticed Mike n Logan would have stretches of great ABs and crappy ABs. This year, pitchers know their weaknesses much more than last year, and they're exploiting them greatly. What's the scouting report on Stanton? Breaking balls. And throw in fastballs down the middle basically to throw him off. Maybe he has a pattern of take-swing on first pitches in ABs and pitchers know that. Take last night. One AB he took a first pitch breaking ball for a ball, the count got to 3-0 before he flew out on a 3-1 I believe. Next AB he swung at three in the dirt. He almost goes from passive hitter to aggressive hitter and switches back each at bat. When he learns to have the same approach every AB, we'll see consistency from him.

As for Logan ... I just don't know.

Admin Beinfest and Mike Hill.

They're the ones who put this team together.

You can only fire so many coaches, and you definitely can't fire 25 players.

Sooner or later, Beinfest/Hill are going to get "the axe."

I don't think that it should happen, but a Beinfest/Hill resignation would not surprise me if this team finishes in or near last place.

The offense seems to be what has been crippling the Marlins as of late. There's been several games where they have scored only 0, 1, or 2 runs. Some of that is on Hanley because he's supposed to be the best hitter and anchor of that lineup, however the rest of the lineup is pretty much a patchwork of either 1st/2nd year players who are going to have their slumps (Morrison, Stanton, Sanchez), guys that Beinfest overestimated (Infante, Buck), or bench/AAAA players who are being designated with a larger role than they should be (Dobbs, Bonifacio, Lopez, Wise, etc.).

Even if Hanley OPSes .950, this team is not a contender. It's hard to blame Beinfest too much though; a lot of it has to do with Morrison, Stanton, and Sanchez slowing down almost at the same instant. That's sort of a nightmare scenario that's hard to prevent and circumvent, especially for a team with the Marlins' payroll.

I suspect that Hill would be the one to go and if he does, he won't be "fired" but will be internally forced to "resign."

The only hitter in the lineup terribly underperforming is Hanley, which means that someone in the FO will have to take the blame.

I know Stanton needs to really work on that inside fastball. He's popped that pitch to the first basemen so many times this year. Breaking balls away, fast balls in. That is the solution to getting Stanton out right now, and it is working very well. It's like everyone knows what pitch is coming next except for him. He'll figure it out though.

Why bother firing anyone?

I just can't imagine firing Beinfest because it will be hard to replace him with someone better than him. I believe if we give him a payroll good enough to compete with other major league teams, he will put together a damn good team.

St. Claire is next to go, hopefully.

Because that is Loria's M.O. Every year (it seems) someone high up gets the axe.

I hope Beinfest resigns :lol

I'm sick of seeing the show on FSF on Mike Hill's life I think I know more about him than I want.

FSF should show replays of the 1997 world series, and the 2003 WS (which I have on dvd)

That right there is the problem, to win games you need good ball players, good ball players cost money. While this team may look good on paper, paper doesn't always translate to reality.

The problem with this team losing is the players, they can fire the entire FO the manager all the assistant coaches and it will make zero difference. Until we start seeing the new ballpark money being used, the marlins making the playoffs is a wet dream. Imagine the impact Michael Young would have had on this team playing 3rd everyday. If we would have spent the cash on him we would probably still be over .500.

Oh well f*** this team.

I'd like to see Loria crack open the wallet a bit....but honestly it has to a lot decisions backfiring For instance, the Miguel Cabrera trade was a complete disaster. Sure, it was unlikely that both Maybin and Miller would be utter failures, but it happened. We gave up one of the best players in baseball and got nothing in return. That cannot happen if you don't plan to get those players in free agency. The farm system is completely barren with superstar future talent, particularly in the pitching area. The well has dried up and the future aint all that bright right now.
