If this keeps going till July then we have a problem. At least Hanley and Reyes looked pretty pissed at the end there. I hate falling below .500 and having to crawl back.

So then they really aren't that good and we haven't built anything, all we did is add a few players here and there and considering what we finished last year we should only hope for .500.

Did anyone else hear LeBatard yesterday? They were talking about the marlins briefly. I guess they had Samson on yesterday and Beinfest on that morning with the morning crew. They were talking about how defeated both Samson and Beinfest sounded. Also Dan said the Buck Signing was almost all Loria.

(I guess that's sort of obvious) They have to be better. But in the meantime there's just really nowhere else to go. I think they're just going to have to ride this season out as is, and if the team winds up at .500 or whatever when it's done, reassess for 2013.

I agree with most of this part (not with riding it out), but I have a bad feeling about it. A .500 team isn't going to bring the crowds in. I totally believe my predictions of a fairly large drop in season ticket holders for next season and beyond. "$$$ coming in will equal $$$ going out." That's their mantra, whether we like it or not. I doubt there would be a big drop in payroll, but I also doubt there will be a big rise in it either. Not a good sign. I think this is the season they need to go balls to the wall and do whatever it takes. If they end up losing $$$, so be it. It's a gamble, but it has to be done. If they still fail we will be paying for it for some time to come. But if they don't do something, we will pay for it for some time to come. If they don't vastly improve on the paid attendance of 22.4K for a Friday night game with the kiddies out of school, vs a team we rarely get to see, and with the NBA playoffs over then trouble is right around the corner. Big question is....How are they seeing it?
