November 18, 201213 yr So this is the strategy. Get winners. Now Pierre, then Lowell, Encarnación and maybe Conine. Why not also Counsell.
November 18, 201213 yr But we still traded Jose Reyes and Emilio bonifacio and replaced that with Juan Pierre. Right.
November 18, 201213 yr And didn't beinfest say we needed pop.? So he got Escobar, hechavarria, and Pierre. Some real power.
November 18, 201213 yr Still sucks on D but still OBPs and steals. My reaction? Cool. We needed the speed with Reyes and Boni both going.
November 18, 201213 yr Reyes wasn't a winner last year guys. Pierre was 100% a winner with the Phillies that also didn't make the playoffs. Seriously though, I don't mind this as long as he's in LF and Lomo at 1st.
November 18, 201213 yr So our opening day lineup is C: Brantly/Mathis 1B: Morrison 2B: Solano SS: Hechavarria 3B: Escobar LF: Pierre CF: Ruggiano RF: Stanton I mean that opening day roster still is pretty bad, but at least that gives us a solution to one missing link in the puzzle. I'm personally hoping to trade Escobar/Nolasco for a real starting 3B, but that's not happening.
November 18, 201213 yr JP>Boni IMO Ok, doesn't change the fact we pretty much traded Bonifacio for Escobar, which is a downgrade if you ask me.
November 18, 201213 yr JP>Boni IMO Ok, doesn't change the fact we pretty much traded Bonifacio for Escobar, which is a downgrade if you ask me. Huh? Escobar > Bonifacio
November 18, 201213 yr One year deal for 1.6 mill according to Juan Rodriguez Solid signing, I guess.
November 18, 201213 yr JP>Boni IMO Ok, doesn't change the fact we pretty much traded Bonifacio for Escobar, which is a downgrade if you ask me. It's not.
November 18, 201213 yr JP>Boni IMO Ok, doesn't change the fact we pretty much traded Bonifacio for Escobar, which is a downgrade if you ask me. It's not. I think a lot of people tend to overrate Bonifacio. He shouldn't be a starter on most teams.

I think a lot of people tend to overrate Bonifacio. He shouldn't be a starter on most teams. People tend to overrate speed in general and Bonifacio has a lot of that. A couple of months in 2011 aside, Bonifacio has been garbage.

November 18, 201213 yr Wait, if he's in left... That means he's going to platoon with Ruggiano... So Gorkys in center??? BTW We should start seeing Kyle Jensen making a claim for LF very soon, Yelich may takeover CF in July... JP should be a great mentor for them
November 18, 201213 yr DodgersGM @DodgersGM Juan Pierre signs with #Marlins and is traded to #BlueJays.
November 18, 201213 yr Cheap, efficient, fills a hole. now go get some pitching or something. Nolasco cannot be the opening day starter.
