November 18, 201213 yr A 24 year old .OPS'ing under .800 in AA while striking out 162 times is not strong. Nowhere near big-league ready. 2011 .893 OPS 28 HRs down year last season but lead AFL in HRs (5) Had .390 OBP .983 OPS Even with a horrible season last year he had 24 HRs 21 Doubles 69 BB .338 OBP (pretty good considering he had .234 AVG) Yes he does strikeout alot so did Mike Schmidt, Willie Stargell and Micky Mantle early in their career In 2011, he was mostly in A ball and was old for the level. His #'s haven't translated to AA and, again, he's 24. He is 24 but he was drafted at age 21 he is on track so need to get off the age thing...He had an excellent AFL If he plays well in Spring Training you will be rooting for him next season as a Miami Marlin he will not go to New Orleans. Only a hand full of his draft class are in the majors right now ahead oh him. Look up the names and you will find Strasburg, Ackley Leake and Brett Wallace are the only players in the majors from his draft. BTW Marisnick is considered the best prospect in the Toronto trade guess what he was drafted a lot higher than Jensen in the same year however Jensen is a lot closer to the majors right now than Marisnick ( I understand Marisnick is 21) they actually have had a similar track through the minors. I really like what Jensen can provide the Marlins in terms of Power he is a natural 5th hitter that will love batting behind Giancarlo
November 18, 201213 yr when loria says we need more power he just means he doesn't want to have to pay the electric bills to light the display in CF when someone actually hits a HR......this is why JP will be his big signing.
November 18, 201213 yr I find it funny that the teams like the jays and reds that did not draw as well as the marlins are still going out and spending money. None of them seem to be going broke like Loria. How does that prick get away with this? Those teams sit around 85 million which is exactly where the marlins should be. The marlins are actually responding to the fact that they spent all that money on those guys and only got 69 wins to show for it. Its not as much as the amount of the payroll but the return from that payroll. That was not a fun team to watch last seasonStop saying 69 wins. They gave up on the team after 3 months. eh...how many wins should I say?
November 18, 201213 yr Is that we he called Henderson Alvarez? I missed the radio interview. And also haven't been on the board in a couple days.

November 19, 201213 yr He's back. Lets sign Ivan Rodriguez now. And Alex Gonzalez. And what the hell, why not Derrek Lee too? Let's just reassemble the '03 championship team for one year to stopgap for all the "amazing" prospects we got from Toronto. World Series '14.
November 19, 201213 yr That is how Loria will get what fans are left, sign former players or players with connection to fla, the guy is 37, what is good about the signing?

November 19, 201213 yr I am so excited about Pierre. You guys have no idea. This is the best thing ever
November 19, 201213 yr Lol. I'm just happy we will have an actual outfield full of outfielders. Baby steps. Maybe the next step will be signing Perez long term. Dude is a stud. Anderson Perez, right?
November 20, 201213 yr wow - did you see all the extra loot JP could pull in on this team .... they are definitely providing incentive to field a championship team next year Pierre would earn a $25,000 bonus if he's an All-Star, $25,000 each for winning a Gold Glove or Silver Slugger, $50,000 if he's an LCS MVP, $100,000 if he's the World Series MVP and $100,000 if he's the league MVP. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/8653126/miami-marlins-salary-dump-trade-toronto-blue-jays-finalized
November 20, 201213 yr Man, Loria sure is finding ways to save money. Then Pierre goes out and hits .380 with 62 homers, 168 RBI and 11 steals ... ... then gets busted after the MVP announcement with PEDs... ... then the MVP goes to Loria. ... which he then trades to Fox for Tim McCarver. f***ING CHEAPSKATE!
