Olmos

I don't know what his problem was in the minors but I know he passes the eyeballs test and I like what I see. Now that he is getting better coaching in the MLB level he should be able to turn his fortunes around because he has lights out ability to be a monster closer in the NL if he can control his cheese.

Huh? Really?

Add this one to the "in case ur not sure he's trolling" pile.

Like i said when he was promoted. He's Andrew Miller. Can throw fast but has no control.

And he's never had a decent walk rate (or even a k rate for that matter) to think that he'll magically turn it around in mlb.

Olmos's K/9 in the minors was 7.7. Thats not shabby at all.

For a RP with a 98mph fastball that's kinda low...

Coaching in the MLB is light years better then in the minors. There's a much better chance of him being fixed up here

But our mlb coach was a single A coach last year...

So were most of our players... lol

I dont remember Andrew Miller ever throwing a pitch over 92 miles a hour. I know he was advertised as having stinky cheese but I don't remember ever seeing it. That is what I was so jacked about seing when we traded for him but I never got to see the stink. At least none of the games I saw.Miller consistently hit 94+, from my recollection.

I Honestly remember seeing 91-93 all the time and being like THAT'S IT?

And that contradicts your "never saw above 92" statement.

93 was his top speed I saw but he was regularly throwing like 91 or 92 and sometimes even in the 80s.

Look up some of Miller's highlights when he was with us. I distinctly remember him in a game vs AZ where he dominated. High 90's with a nasty slider.

Is there a chance that olmos can start? We don't have no lefty starters.

The plan is to have him start and then have him close on the four days he does not start because we have no closer. Olmos brings the stink! That's the plan in the future, but the Marlins aren't doing it right now. They're worried about Olmos' durability. They think he'll get injured right now if they do that to him. If you noticed, we played 30 innings last weekend in NY and Olmos did not pitch. The Marlins are making sure that Olmos eats a lot of beef cakes in games before they throw him out there a lot.

I've been watching the games and that's my opinion based on what I see. But it's also a fact.

If they try to use him to start AND close then his arm is going to get injured real fast. I really hope they don't plan to do that. After a long start the arm needs to rest at least 3 days. If they try that with him they are crazy. I hope your wrong about it.

They're also apparently going to try out Jeff Mathis at SS. He's a little slow but they think his bat will pick up, and he has a lot of experience at baseball.

Yeah right
