June 5, 201313 yr If Cox becomes another Solano...World Series time. I mean, Solano is great and has beefcake. Imagine two Solano's?!? C'mon guys. Where's a tall bridge when you need one?
June 5, 201313 yr I have a feeling that Coghlan will be an above average first basemen. He is athletic and has a really good arm for 3 rd base. He doesn't have the power but the average will be there at least. Better then big head polanco or out of shape shoe salesmen Greg dobbs.
June 5, 201313 yr But what about his body? He could get injured Not with Jesus on his side. Jesus likes fish...it says so in the Bible. So I guess that means Coghlan will be OK.

June 5, 201313 yr I am not as concerned about coghlan's body as I am about some of the other players in the team because he looks athletic so he doesn't need to pack on the pounds. His arm is average for the outfield but he will have a canon for a 3 rd basemen on the infield. His range should be very good to. I'm looking forward to seeing him at the hot corner it would also increase his value also. Really the only bad thing is that he will never hit more than 18 home runs or something so we will have to get our home runs from other places even though the hot corner is usually a position that hits the dingers. If he can get back to being the hit monster he was in rookie of the year I can deal with less homers until we find a heavy bat to play 3 rd base down the road.
June 5, 201313 yr Well, let's be honest. We just need Coghlan to hold the fort until we trade Stanton for soon to be 35-year old Aramis Ramirez.
June 6, 201313 yr Aramis Ramirez was just a suggestion and not the main part of the trade I suggested. The main part would be gallardo who would be our number one starter or 2 behind Fernandez if he develops. Axfords could close if olmos doesn't blossom and cishek continues to sink. It's a good deal for both sides especially if Stanton doesn't want to play here and keeps sitting out with minor injuries every year. He's a monster when he plays but he is a part timer now the marlins don't even consider him a full time employee. What 3 rd basemen would you suggest we go after?
June 6, 201313 yr Yovani Gallardo and his 5.25 ERA and 1.47 WHIP would be an excellent #1 starter for us. You guys are blind.
June 6, 201313 yr Yovani Gallardo and his 5.25 ERA and 1.47 WHIP would be an excellent #1 starter for us. You guys are blind. What about Axford and his 5.26 ERA and 1.71 WHIP to hold down the closer's role? Seriously, who doesn't see that the guy is trolling?
June 6, 201313 yr Looks like Solano is working at third base tonight in Jupiter I dont understand this organizations fascination with having Solano in the lineup. He started every game until he got hurt despite being beyond terrible.
June 6, 201313 yr Well, in about a month from now when Coghlan's numbers are bad again, no one will want him at third base.
June 6, 201313 yr Yovani Gallardo and his 5.25 ERA and 1.47 WHIP would be an excellent #1 starter for us. You guys are blind. He hasn't been good this year which I mentioned when I first gave the idea about the trade. But he is a lock for a sub 4 era 200 innings and 200 strikeouts every year. Axfords has not been good either but can close and aramis Ramirez we would only have for 3 or 4 seasons before he declines. But we would only be giving them the one player and that player has never stayed healthy for a whole season and is a high risk if they want to sign him for monster money long terms which he won't do here even if we offer- and I'm starting to think its a good idea not to give him garanteed money to sit out half of the year every year of the contract. I'm in love with Satnton when he is playing but he hardly plays and it's a trend with him now.

June 6, 201313 yr Well, in about a month from now when Coghlan's numbers are bad again, no one will want him at third base. At least we have some sort of back up plans with Solano and Cox... All three options aren't ideal but still.
