Jesus Christ. Reminds me of how the Nats catered to Phillies fans when they sucked

Care to elaborate?

I was on a Nats forum in 2009 so I could see them rage over how much they sucked, and I saw quite a few people complaining about how Rizzo (I believe) went on the telecast and talked about how much they love Phillies fans and how they want them to come on out and have a great time when the Phillies come to play. Apparently there was more to it than that (like some packages and selling their merch?) and it angered their fans.

Dolphins had a Gators Night when Tim Tebow and the Broncos were in town.

I don't see a problem with this.

who cares? its not like its "giants" night at the ballpark. they are hosting a college night just like they do with um night.

This still takes the cake for fail promotions though http://www.faniq.com/blog/Nets-Giving-Away-Reversible-Jerseys-With-Opposing-Players-Jerseys-Blog-27954

After the team already had a Gio Gonzalez friends and family night, how does this surprise anyone this time?

With Gio thing that kind of ticked me off at first, but you know their job is to put butts in the seats, probably need to do more of these

The problem is that both the Marlins and Dolphins are terribly run organizations

Honestly, they're good promotions if your team sucks and doesn't draw many of its own fans.

Marketing and sales will do whatever it takes to draw those few extra consumers, even if it's at a smaller profit.

Pissing on the Orange Bowl a Lil more. I was gonna take the kids to next home stand. Since I seen this I will hold off till next time. I'm a Miami lifer and this pisses me off. I understand its just marketing but they will at least lose 4 in attendance because of it.

I'm usually not against these promos, but you're right. At the site of the OB, you have an FSU night? Really?

The Marlins have had UM, FIU, and FAU nights....what's the difference? FSU has a lot of alumni in Miami. So maybe they sell a few more tickets to this game. Who cares?

I go to FSU and can tell you that a majority of FSU students and alumni come from south florida. Get over it its a promotional night.
