Maybe if he filled the team with players who enjoy the success that Jose enjoys, then people will show up every day rather than once every 5 games.

The best part of this is how EARLY they're showing up. If the team continues to surge, they should have a better average per game attendance than the 2012 team by the All-Star break.

May 7, 201412 yr I don't think it will be that dramatic. However, if this team makes the playoffs this year then we can expect bigger crowds than 2012 next season (on average, counting the dismal attendance in the second half)

May 7, 201412 yr Got back from the game not too long ago. That game was a mess hitting wise. Koehler was great, but the Mets were hitting some balls hard that just happened to find the right spot. That last play of the game should've been an easy out. Surprised the Mets catcher couldn't snag that ball. Stanton would've been out easy (at least from my view that is what I saw. Not exactly a great throw made). One of the more funny walk offs I've seen, it was such a drab game overall that even with a walk off it was kind of like "cool" rather than "OMG".
May 7, 201412 yr If I told you before the season that we would have two starters with an ERA under 2 at the beginning of May, and one of those two would be Tom Koehler, you would've laughed me out of the building. There's a hell of a lot of luck going for Koehler so far, but damn if he isn't getting the results.
May 7, 201412 yr I was far all the way down by the third base side for the game (friend found $9.60 tickets down there, didn't expect the seats to be so great). Got a great view of the play. Maybe I missed something but it looked like the Mets should've been able to get Stanton out on that play, just a mediocre throw and even worse scoop.

May 7, 201412 yr BTW I haven't checked the site yet so I don't know if you already talked about it, but the ball boy made the play of the game early on. A diving catch that sent him into the stands. Wouldn't be surprised to see that on sportscenter.

It's unlike any team in baseball... very unique. You see a Marlins game on TV, you know immediately where the game is.
