May 24, 201412 yr 13m clarkspencer @clarkspencer No official word yet from #Marlins, but LH Dan Jennings appears to be on his way back up. Could that mean a DFA for Brad Hand? Stay tuned.
May 24, 201412 yr If they didn't immediately announce Hatcher being sent down then it's gotta be a DFA for Hand.
May 24, 201412 yr I wonder if this is a fake injury for Hand because they don't want to DFA him yet. I thought the same
May 24, 201412 yr For how bad Hand has been in MLB this year, scouts love "his stuff" so it's not out of the question that someone would claim him or that the Marlins still want to keep him.
May 24, 201412 yr Brad Hand is about as injured as Kevin Gregg was after his 10th blown save years ago.
May 25, 201412 yr Fake injuries are a big, big no-no, but one can certainly understand how it could happen -- FO: Brad, you're not doing so well, and we think that ankle thing is very serious. We don't want to DFA you and then you get waived by 29 teams like Marmol, that would be embarrassing. Mostly for you, but we wouldn't look too smart, either. We sure don't want to release you, we know that you're better than that, but you're out of options. And so are we. BH: Uh, yeah, OK. FO: So, we'll put you on the 15 DL and then you can have a rehab set-back, you know, like Rafael with the groin thing. Those ankle sprains are just as tricky. BH: Uh, yeah, OK. FO: Then, we'll put you on the 60 DL, just like Rafi. BH: Uh, yeah, OK. FO: So, you'll have 2 months to get your head screwed on straight and throw some rehab innings and work on your control. BH: Uh, yeah, OK. FO: Of course, you'll be paid at MLB rates the whole time. BH: Uh, yeah, OK. FO: Are we good with this? BH: Uh, yeah, OK.
May 25, 201412 yr Author I'd rate it like a C- for wittiness and creativity, but to each his own. A grade C- is basically the definition of "decent".
May 25, 201412 yr A grade C- is basically the definition of "decent". Depends on who's judging the grade and who the grade is for, but yeah, sure.
