Umpires still screwing this team, as usual; that was Ball 4 to Jones. The Blue have screwed the Fish for years; thank God for instant replay this year, or we would have lost several more games due to them. So now they just screw us on balls & strikes. My theory on this is that this organization, because of the ownership, gets no respect from anyone in baseball, and that includes the umpires. Maybe there's another reason why this team constantly gets so many poor calls, but I can't think of one so I'm going with the No Respect theory, LOL...

Not that I ever agree with the fandom "the officials have it out for us" argument...we have to earn respect. A handful of games with some young guns and hired mercenaries is not going to do it.

Yeah...I'm gonna go with this entire post being incorrect.

One thing I worry about with Heaney is Redmond, of course. Redmond will undoubtedly take him out of games too early, costing him, and the Marlins, opportunities to win games. Just watch you guys; I guarantee that pretty soon we will see Dunn, Jennings, and Turner blowing games that Heaney starts. If you have any doubt, think back to last year and how many games that Jose Fernandez started got blown by the usual bullpen suspects, Dunn, Webb, etc.

Anyway, it was a very good start for the kid. You really can't fault him for being a bit jittery at first or for giving up a HR to a great player like Wright. If he continues to pitch like this the rest of the year he definitely should help stabilize a rotation that has been shaky, to say the least. I don't know if he will be The Savior and make up for the loss of Jose Fernandez, but that's really asking too much of the kid. In my opinion the biggest disappointment in the rotation has been Eovaldi. Maybe with Heaney here he will feel less pressure to be The Man and go back to pitching like he did earlier in year when Jose was here.

Redmond's issue has never been taking starting pitchers out too early. It's just not going with the right matchups and other dumb Redmond things. Redmond did a great job handling Fernandez despite the outcome so I'm not worried in the least about him handling Heaney.
