I guess that was Eovaldi's obligatory meltdown after 2-3 good starts. Thanks for that.

Thought Hechavarria had a hit in the 9th there.

Love how things come back to bite in baseball i.e. the Rios popup, Solano shallow fly out with runner on third and 1-out, Stanton, McGehee, and Solano again not coming through with runners in scoring position.

Saltalamacchia's shot should have been a walk off. That makes the Rangers 12-34 since they were 37-43.

Now we go face a Rockies team playing well at home and the Marlins struggling to score.

6-3 homestand is nice, but this loss combined with the loss to the Diamondbacks really has me thinking about 7-2 even though with the way the Nationals, Braves, and Cardinals are playing pretty much means we have to be perfect. Need to step up and get some separation from the .500 mark.

On the bright side it looks like Ozuna is on a tear and Salty has been showing some signs of life. I really think they need to bring Kike up. He can't be any worse than what we have been getting. Also, Dietrich is already rehabbing so I'm sure he's not too far away.

The team has heart. Hopefully this is a quick lesson to learn. A game can be dictated in the first. 2 outs with nobody on is piss poor. Now we need to 6 games to go our way today for us to be stuck in neutral. Gain some tomorrow. Then hit it back up friday.

This offense is the very reason why we cant seem to get on sustained winning streaks.

I agree, thats why winning series is most critical in my opinion. For what its worth, we have lost a series since at pittsburgh. That was 4 series ago.

Solano on the bench = perfectly acceptable

Solano in the lineup = absolutely dreadful

I would not mind seeing Dietrich or Hernandez back up provided they play proper defense. This team needs to come through with RISP and sometimes go 3-4 innings in a row with runners on and get nothing.

I also would not mind putting Ozuna behind stanton then McGehee. I really hope McGehee doesn't fade away and can find his swing again which it looked like he did in Cincinnati and hit some balls hard against Arizona but he looks lost right now.

Fuck man today was frustrating.

Offense needs to step it up in Denver, enough said. 8:40 P.M. Friday.

McGehee's start was smoke and mirrors. His swing was never actually good he just hit it where they ain't (ie luck). The dude's 50%+ GB rate always showed he was due for some massive regression and well here we go.

He needs to be taken out of 4th spot. You want an ozuna "fuck it" moment? Make him hit clean up, after they pitch around stanton or IBB him. Hard for him to say "fuck it" after mcgehee ends the inning in a ground ball to short with runners on.

Ozuna to 2nd in the order, whoever is playing 2nd to 8th.

Dietrich comes up, bat him second.
