June 22, 201511 yr The offense is worse than people want to admit. The ISO is one of the worst in baseball and is only as high as it is because of Stanton. Ozuna is partly to blame by not showing the power from last year.
June 22, 201511 yr The offense is worse than people want to admit. The ISO is one of the worst in baseball and is only as high as it is because of Stanton. Ozuna is partly to blame by not showing the power from last year. Yeah lack of power from Ozuna/Morse ain't helping at all. These guys do nothing but hit singles (10th in mlb in avg), but also dont take walks (like 21st on obp) or hit xbhs (super low there).
June 22, 201511 yr Another reason to be pissed off: The fucking Braves just made it to .500. Someone force Loria to sell and get ppl in place that have a fucking clue as to how to run a franchise and build a winner
June 22, 201511 yr What does that have to do with Yelich's contract? He had a terrible 120 ABs to start the year, but he's been fine since. Our SP/bullpen (11 blown saves) has been a far more culpable culprit for this shitty ass season i know. I just dont care who we have as long we are winning. I lose my patience with contracts and who is and isnt contributing. I see a 30 and i see a 41. So naturally im beyond panicking on contracts...more like empathetic.
June 22, 201511 yr If we could trade one of Yelich/Ozuna for SP or for a corner infield bat and replace them in free agency, I'd be all for it.
June 22, 201511 yr Was wondering.....did we extend Yelich too soon? At the moment he does not look like a player that will develop into anything more than an average MLB player. So you're telling me by watching his age 22 and 23 seasons, you think he will only be an average MLB Player? You're crazy.
June 22, 201511 yr Yelich has been fine since coming back. His lower back was clearly killing him in the first month. He needs to show more power though. Ozuna to me has been the biggest disappointment on the team. He looks like a 4th outfielder thus far. The power needs to show up or he might not be a long term part of the outfield like we all thougjt
June 22, 201511 yr Yelich has had a couple of HR this month, raised his BA from 220 to 230. Slight rise in OPS only because he began the month under 600. Hitting under 250 for the month. Nothing to feel warm and fuzzy over. He and Ozuna need to step it up big time for this team to start digging itself out of this 30-41 ditch.
June 22, 201511 yr Yeah Ozuna's power outage has been odd. I still expect it will come around. Yelich will be ok. It's just frustrating to get in such an awful position as 10 games under .500. You have to play so well for such a long stretch just to get back to .500, not to mention any kind of playoff run. I'm still not sure what the rotation ultimately is with everyone healthy.
June 22, 201511 yr FWIW, realistic or not, the one thing we'll need to really be back in this is a week and half to two week winning streak of 9-10 games or like a 9-1 or 9-2 stretch. Anything less, even something solid like going 7-3 wouldn't be enough to pull us out of the hole.
June 22, 201511 yr I'm still not sure what the rotation ultimately is with everyone healthy. Assuming health all around, I think our rotation in a couple weeks should be worth watching. Say it's Fernandez, Nicolino, Urena, Haren, and a healthy Latos? Interchange Phelps, maybe Koehler at the back end, the pieces are there. Can they help? I don't think they can hurt.
June 22, 201511 yr Whenever I find you agree with me, I tend to reread what I posted, and think a little more about my opinion. It's nice. I wish you worked with me, because I would do the same and probably avoid some mistakes. Just remember this simple rule: cold streaks are forever, and hot streaks are fleeting.
June 22, 201511 yr Just remember this simple rule: cold streaks are forever, and hot streaks are fleeting. There's no way that's true. Of course hot streaks are fleeting but then so are cold streaks. If they're forever they're not streaks, they're just the norm.
