I feel like we won a game that was trending to be a loss.

10 hits in 3 games for Ichiro.  Guy is unreal.

Chen and Urena are embarrassing.

Stanton a hit and a walk.  He's creeping out of the slump.  I like.

Stanton hit a rope for a hit and just missed one also in the game. I'll take that progress.

Urena has been doing this all season with the exception of that Dodger game. Especially recently.

This game goes to Ichiro tho. Who set the table for the big hits and came thru big late.

good win. 23-21. gains a game on philly and about to gain one on Washington.

I think that if kiermyer played this could have played out differently.

Why? Was there a play in CF he could've made?

hitting. he's pretty damn good. I see him a lot of triples.

Meh, he's not a great hitter. Also, we had a lefty on the mound today. He's a career .229 hitter against lefties.

Urena, Barraclough, ramos.....Urena.

Barraclough needs to cut it with the god damn walks.

At the park these past few days you can't help but notice no matter how poorly Stanton is struggling at the plate he's not losing focus in the field. He's hustling for everything, including two balls right against the wall in foul territory. He's playing smart out there, too - on the hit in the 9th, he could have tried to dive for the ball but if it got by him it would have been an easy triple so he pulled up to keep it in front of him.

I also like how Mattingly faked out Cash in the 8th. With first and third and no out and the pitcher's spot up, he called for Yelich rather than Dietrich. Cash immediately called for a lefty and Mattingly inserted Gillespie, who hit a sac fly to tie the game. It's likely that Yelich wasn't really available, and Mattingly wanted Gillespie against the lefty rather than Dietrich, so Christian was a decoy to ensure the favorable platoon situation.

Stanton fielded that ball really weird in the 9th, but I'm just glad it stayed in front of him. Not sure what he was doing though, it was a clear single that should've been fielded on one hop. Seemed like he was trying to do too much.

With that said, he has made some nice plays defensively during the offensive slump.

I'm not saying I don't believe. But like, are we really expecting this team to out hit the league? Is that really our plan to make the post-season. Chen was starting to look better then this outing. I'm just trying to figure out what everyone's expectations are right now.

Ichiro should be playing everyday until he cools off.

This is the best Marlins hitting roster since the 30+ HR infield season.

When Stanton regains his form, I think it would be fair to say we have the best complete outfield in the Majors?

There's a thread for this.

Ichiro is on fire and it's awesome. Still can't stand Urena and I'm wondering who's gone once Dunn is back.

Same could be said if yelich was healthy and in the game.

I agree that you go with the hot hand and keep Ichiro in until he cools off. As for Chen this is kind of similar to how he's always been in his career. He isn't really lights out but more often than not will get you a quality start and eat innings. He didn't have it yesterday but Chen isn't one of the guys im worried about. Much more worried about today's starter. Right now our pen sucks again with McGowan Jackson and ureña. Is Morris hurt? I think when Dunn comes back we should also give Wittgren another shot over McGowan. (Maybe Ellington? Ogando when he recovers? Lazo?).

Since he was announced they can't retro back from Saturday. Looks like they may just give him a couple days especially with the DH coming up tomorrow and Thursday and he might be able to play after that.

It was actually 20+ but I agree that was a great season production wise for that infield.

I would say it is Urena who does go down once Dunn is activated. I would say after we get back from this road trip he could be activated by the Met series next week.

Ichiro is on fire, and you ride it out until he cools off. Great to see some vintage Ichiro these past couple of days.

Chen is a fly ball pitcher against a home run hitting team right now. I thought outside of the first inning he did pretty well keep the pitch count low. He had thrown around 80 pitches or so when they took him out.

Mattingly likes to bring in Morris when there are runners on base, because he believes he will strand them. Said no one ever.

Ogando would be nice, hopefully he is doing okay. Jackson has only pitched once since coming back and it looks like he has the long relief role anyway. McGowan is decent. The guy that needs to go is Urena.
