June 13, 201610 yr MIAMI (June 13, 2016) – FOX Sports Florida, the statewide television home of the Miami Marlins, today announced Jeff Nelson has joined its roster of Marlins on-air talent. In his new role, Nelson will serve as studio analyst on select Marlins LIVE pre- and postgame shows. Nelson will make his Marlins LIVE pregame show debut this Tuesday, June 14 at 9:30 p.m. before the Marlins take on the San Diego Padres. Currently, Nelson serves as an analyst on MLB.com and as a host on SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio. A 15-year MLB veteran, Nelson was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1984 and made his Major League debut with the Seattle Mariners in 1992. Throughout his career, he played for the Mariners, 1992-95, 2001-03 and 2005; New York Yankees, 1996-2000, and 2003; Texas Rangers, 2004; and Chicago White Sox, 2006. He won four World Series rings with the Yankees and was named an American League All-Star in 2001. Over his career, he racked up 829 strikeouts and sported a lifetime ERA of 3.41. June 15, 201610 yr Author Both are really dumb. I'd either; Get rid of the concept all together, and create a counterpart for billy. The would do funny shenanigans all over the park including mocking the energy team. Or I would just hire 6 strippers and put them in a skimpy marlins outfit. Whenever the energy team did something, I'll just replace that by having the strippers stand and pose on top of both dug outs. You should have taken over the marketing department
June 15, 201610 yr We aren't a football team, not even a basketball team would need those clowns. The Heat bring enough hype when they play, AAA arena is an incredible atmosphere to be in when you go to a game. Keep the concept simple. I think Billy the Marlin is good enough. What happened to his dad and mom showing up like they used to do back in the day? They need to make Billy more like the Philly Phanatic. That mascot is hilarious.
