August 28, 201610 yr All of you, you're all a bunch of quitters, acting as if the sky has fallen where we're still only a game and half out of the wind card. Seriously! : Admin's message to all of you if he were here. Relax everyone, the pressure's off. This team as constituted has been playing suck ass baseball at the plate and on the bases for quite a while. We've been sustained so far by really good pitching and our opponents fuckups but we've come to that point where we can't hold up any longer and are sinking fast. This is just a different team the last third of the season than the one we've watched until then. What we've found out, is that the core of Prado, Yelich and Ozuna cannot carry this team. It's a sad lesson to learn but the truth. I too thought all were capable of stepping up, delivering more than what they have. They have all more of less seen their BA's dip only slightly but have not been in on nearly enough run production. Also that JT can't drive in runs, DG and Ichiro can't hit the ball out of the infield with RISP and the rest with men on base are GIDP's waiting to happen. This team can't string together 3 singles in an inning without losing a runner to a base running mistake or caught stealing. Losing Stanton and Bour, who was hot when he went down, well they were the straw that stirs this drink, and this team just doesn't have the juice to replace them. It feels as if we're literally being choked to death when a runner is on 3rd, there are less than 2 out and the opposing infield is playing in. It's okay. So this won't be the year. Maybe next year if we can somehow stay healthy for once into August and September.
