Erick
Can anything be done with Jose's name in terms of the ballpark name? Should be named Jose Fernandez Park.
dim
This is just an awful day. We lost the face of our franchise, a 24-year-old bright light. I'm seriously at a loss of words. I've never experienced this with a player on one of my teams. Last night I went to the UCF football game and was talking with a friend who is a Yankees fan about Jose Fernandez's future as a player. We were talking about how he was bound to become one of the greatest pitchers of all-time, whether that be with the Marlins, Yankees, Dodgers, wherever...He was poised to have an incredible career... And now it's gone. He's gone. It completely changes the landscape of our franchise, but more importantly a 24 year old kid just lost his life far too early. Again, I'm far more distraught than I ever imagine I could be. RIP.

Hotcorner
I imagine this is what it felt like when Roberto Clemente died. He was already older of course but that kind of figure.

FloridaMarlinsForever
speed seems like the main culprit No drugs or alcohol I use to do alot of boating when I lived in Florida, sometimes we would go out at night, even at low speed like no wake speed I would get nervous, because you just cant see much, even in well lite areas . Going high speed at night is just borderline suicidal. Wonder who was at the wheel?
Erick
He should win the Cy Young.
FreshFish
I imagine this is what it felt like when Roberto Clemente died. I know. But Roberto had his career. Jose was only 24. This one hurts, 24 is too young. My son is only 20. I can't imagine the hurt of his mother and grandmother

el_gmac
I imagine this is what it felt like when Roberto Clemente died. RC was the best but i think this is a bit worse since Jose was 24 and still a whole MLB career ahead of him

SilverBullet
So who owns the boat? Was he one of the victims? The media almost worded it like it's someone we would know.
