Jose Fernandez dies in boating accident

It all really doesn't feel real. This is a darkest timeline kind of world right now that I'm seeing on Sportscenter. I don't even know if it'll feel real until Opening Day 2017, when we take the mound and Jose isn't there. I can't imagine how rough that game is going to be for all of us.

I also hurt for this whole site. All of us who are so dedicated to this organization and literally get sick from nerves during games.

All losses hurt but I think this one means the most.

Wow.

Just wow.

To survive all he had to survive to get here. And to achieve all he has achieved so far and was predicted to achieve in the future. It just seems unreal.

Will the team press conference be aired on TV?

it'll definitely be covered on MLBN.

i'd assume ESPNN will cove it as well

Jose Fernandez Park, please. No one owned it more than Jose. Not Loria, not anyone.

How can the players and coaches be expected to go out there this week and play from tomorrow onwards?

It will without a doubt be the hardest week in the history of the Miami Marlins franchise.

So Jose Fernandez was not put on this earth to win ballgames or to push the Marlins to the playoffs. He was put on earth to teach us not only what a baseball player should be but what a human being should be. At first this will be devastating to this team but I hope in time Jose's memory becomes the drive for this team. Every player to enter this organization from here on out should be told we do things like Jose did. Work hard like Jose and have fun like Jose. I want Jose to become what this team and organization strives for forever.

Wasn't going to the game tomorrow but now I'll be there. If anyone, wants to go let me know. I'll have a ticket for you.
