Need a New Short Stop??

Recommended Posts

Any chance???  I know it is crazy, but I think it could mean a lot to the community, the fans, Jose's family and team.  It's probably a pipe dream

Is Diaz really that valuable? I honestly don't know much about him. Hard to imagine he's worthy of a package that starts with Yelich and includes more though.

Not even close. Yelich > Diaz. Diaz is 26 (older than Yelly) and bad at defense. His hit tool is nice, and he has good pop, but so does Yelich, with a higher ceiling on both. Pure value, not counting what each team needs, there is no way the Cards would turn down Yelich for Diaz straight up. We certainly don't need to add anyone, as it would already be a one-sided trade as a one-for-one.

I'd do yelich for diaz I guess.  Would try to get them to throw in Hech, cause well, we would need someone for a short term unitl some of the younger kids are ready (2-3 years off at least)

diaz's defense is fine.  after his initial spell of bad defense it has been pretty decent from really june forward.  looking at the stats doesnt do a lot, because its skewed.
