wait was it announced he made the team?

No, we're just speculating by the way things have gone this spring and the way the team is talking. For example, Mattingly has said a few times about not rushing Alcantara to the bigs for no reason. They haven't shown anything that says they'd hold back Brinson.

Someone email Frisario and have him write an article calling them idiots if they have Brinson, Alcantara, Anderson, and Peters up before their clocks roll over in May.

We can all live with 6-7 weeks of R. Ortega, C. Adames, E. Campbell, and Nicolino types versus having multiple guys under team control in 2024.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Mike Hill was here when Loria didn't do this with Fernandez.

Mike Hill needs to flip a table over if the rest of them don't get it or think it's not a big deal.

I can accept Peters being called up as he isn't an elite guy, and probably will get phased out of the rotation in a few years, but Brinson, Alcantara, and probably Anderson as a longterm starting option who has made some top 100 prospect lists, inexcusable waste of an asset.

Better off asking Barry Jackson to do it. He'll probably really listen to you and write an article about it.

Exactly. Joe Frisaro will just block us.

LF and RF is locked up with Dietrich and Maybin so only CF is up and I would try and give that to Braxton Lee if he continues to have a good Spring Training with Van Slyke as the 4th OF.

Anyone remember our starting center fielder for 2006?? Eric Reed!

My line up

1. Maybin

2. Realmuto

3. Castro

4. Bour

5. Prado

6. Dietrich

7. Rojas

8. Lee

They'll do the right thing.  Right?  Right!!!????  I mean the Fernandez thing was all Loria being meddling.  Sherman knows he doesn't know crap about baseball.  I think Jeter gets it and he leans on the staff for execution and what not. Assuming the staff know the rules (low bar) this shouldn't be hard.  I'm not worried yet.

So Braxton Lee - if you wait 15 days it adds a year of service time. If it's June 15th you have deflected an extra arbitration year.

I mean I don't want to be insane and worry about probable bench outfielders service time 3-7 years from now, but at the same time, why not? What does the organization have to lose keeping a variety of guys down 2-3 months to potentially increase the value of their assets? If Lee becomes a good player, even on the bench, why don't they want him incrementally cheaper and for another year? It's hard to decide where the line is here, as the team can do it with Cooper and Ca. Smith also, but those guys have at least proved themselves in AAA versus rushing some of the other guys.

This is the current all deflection lineup, assuming Prado and Riddle are hurt. None of it is a problem, except that gaping hole at 3B as Anderson is the obvious replacement for Prado and they really have nothing there until Anderson can get called up May 15th or whatever. It sucks that two of their top 4 2B/SS/3B guys are hurt.

Realmuto, Telis

Bour, Cooper

Castro

Rojas, Adames

Campbell

Dietrich

Maybin

Van Slyke, Ortega/Literally whoever

Straily, Urena, Conley, Despaigne (They can live with a 4 man rotation for 6 weeks with a few bullpen days sprinkled in)

Ziegler, Barraclough, Steckenrider, Wittgren, Tazawa, E. Hernandez, Ca. Smith, Nicolino, O'Grady

(even better if they sign a veteran innings eater, send Despaigne or Conley to bullpen, and send O'Grady or Ca. Smith to AAA for 1-3 months, or just DFA Nicolino)

It's not pretty, but they can live with that for now. Start DFA'ing guys when Prado and Riddle are healthy, the service time rolls over for Brinson, Anderson, Alcantara, D. Peters, and Sierra in May, when J. Garcia has proved he is stretched out for starting in the rotation, and the Super2 deadline passes for guys like B. Lee, Gallen, T. Richards, and Brigham in June.

I just want them to be smart for once. The line in the sand is Brinson and Alcantara's control for 2024. I will be annoyed if Anderson, Peters, B. Lee, and some others are up, but they can't lose a year of service time for two top 5 organizational assets in a 95+ loss season. That is insane.

I haven't really followed Ortega much. I keep seeing pretty much the same lineups and guys that are standing to stand out right now are Galloway, Yadiel Alvarez and Mooney.

Granted these guys might not ever got a chance but it would be suitable to have them up for the time being until the next wave of players come up. I agree that players like Brinson, Alcantra, Sierra, Peters and Anderson shouldn't be up until at least preferrably June but we have no idea what they might do right now.

I say Braxton Lee because right now his projections is a 4th OF and would give us a true CF for the time being.

What makes more sense is puttin Maybin in CF and letting Cooper get RF or someone else. But I think the Marlins may want to put Maybin a corner OF spot preferrably RF right now.

Yep, it's 6-10 weeks. Let the random guys play. Maybe you strike gold before the inevitable change over to the kids.

I think they signed him to be in CF until Lee/Sierra come up this summer. I expect Brinson to be placed in RF and left alone for god willingly a decade.

UM you guys do realize Bour is all muscle right?.Theres been way fatter guys playing third base.Ive seen Bour with his shirt off and Short pants at the beach. He's All Muscle. If he can get practice at the position, i'm sure he can handle it.

Where is Ortega?

What I find very interesting is that Elieser Hernandez only got to High A last season yet he is in contention for a rotation spot. I think he’s pitching very well but I guess he makes the team without getting to AA or he goes back.
