November 30, 20187 yr Ozuna turned down an extension from us right? He and Hechavarria probably hating themselves for that.
November 30, 20187 yr Ozuna turned down an extension from us right? He and Hechavarria probably hating themselves for that. Yeah I recall him turning down the opportunity to discuss one, he's a Boras client so that's always the way with him.
November 30, 20187 yr Not like we'd have kept him anyway. I meant it independent of the Marlins... no matter where he would be playing he would have guaranteed big money yet now his career seems to be on a downturn. He may have missed his chance to cash in big. Which really sucks because I love Ozuna. I hope he sticks around long enough, which he probably will.

I hope he has a huge year this season (MVP style) and gets a big contract next off-season.
December 1, 20187 yr The player wants to leave is one thing, the team didn't do their best to convince the player to stay is another, I just hope they to trade Realmuto only after they do their best to convince him to stay long term but fail.
December 1, 20187 yr The player wants to leave is one thing, the team didn't do their best to convince the player to stay is another, I just hope they to trade Realmuto only after they do their best to convince him to stay long term but fail. They can try an offer a fair extension but if the player has seriously made up his mind that he would rather leave then there isn't too much the team can do at that point. I also wouldn't want them to offer him stupid money to force him to accept either if that's what you're getting at.
December 1, 20187 yr I also wouldn't want them to offer him stupid money to force him to accept either if that's what you're getting at. But nobody would say NO to the "stupid money", just see what Stanton did.
December 1, 20187 yr But nobody would say NO to the "stupid money", just see what Stanton did. Exactly but would you really want them to put $325 million on Realmuto right now?
December 1, 20187 yr Exactly but would you really want them to put $325 million on Realmuto right now? C'mon, JT said already he needs ONLY the "Posey money" and not the "Stanton money".
December 1, 20187 yr C'mon, JT said already he needs ONLY the "Posey money" and not the "Stanton money". Posey money is still an overpay. I'd rather just have Kyle Tucker and a few other great prospects from the Astros.
December 1, 20187 yr https://www.mlb.com/marlins/news/jt-realmuto-rumors-heat-up-hot-stove-season/c-301299688 "If the Marlins take a hard-line stance, they could carry Realmuto all the way until he reaches free agency and hope within the next two seasons they are in position to contend for at least a National League Wild Card spot, or he agrees to sign long term. If not, they can seek a trade at the non-waiver Deadline, perhaps in July 2019 or even '20." It means it's possible that we would keep him for at least the next season, didn't trade him no matter what the return would be.
December 1, 20187 yr It means it's possible that we would keep him for at least the next season, didn't trade him no matter what the return would be His value won’t be higher than it is right now. For instance rumor is the Astros will trade Tucker plus more right now for him. Later on, I doubt they’d trade a guy like tucker for him.
December 2, 20187 yr I'm tired of this "JT thing" already and didn't want to focus so much on this, but I believe this team won't screw it up.
December 3, 20187 yr https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/12/al-notes-ms-seager-yanks-sanchez-tribe-bauer.html "Like Seager, Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez endured a surprisingly poor season in 2018. However, Sanchez is “not for sale,”general manager Brian Cashman tells Jack Curry of the YES Network (video link). The Yankees expect to be “proven correct” that Sanchez is a franchise catcher, per Cashman, who has consistently defended the 26-year-old in recent months. So, although Sanchez has come up in trade rumors as recently as this week, it appears he’ll stay put." Somebody said he's available for JT, somebody said he's untouchable, so who to believe !?
December 3, 20187 yr Just waiting for the Winter Meetings to start. Might be dealt then or shortly afterwards. Right now Houston seems like the best team to land him. I do think 5 / $85 million is a solid offer for JT.
December 3, 20187 yr https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/12/quick-hits-cano-cashman-realmuto-tsutsugo-joseph.html "Cashman also said that recent reports about the Yankees‘ interest in J.T. Realmuto were “false, completely false,” and that the team didn’t make an offer to the Marlins about the All-Star catcher. According to Fancred’s Jon Heyman, the Yankees were open to the idea of moving Gary Sanchez to Miami for Realmuto in something close to a one-for-one trade, though the Marlins wanted other significant pieces in addition to Sanchez." So who's the fake news maker ? "Hey"man or "Cash"man !?
December 3, 20187 yr So who's the fake news maker ? "Hey"man or "Cash"man !? GMs will NEVER admit they were shopping guys if there is a good chance they keep them. I believe Heyman on this one, Cashman is just saying it because he doesn't want Sanchez to think he was being offered up.
December 3, 20187 yr GMs will NEVER admit they were shopping guys if there is a good chance they keep them. I believe Heyman on this one, Cashman is just saying it because he doesn't want Sanchez to think he was being offered up. Yeah, Sanchez would say "thank you" to Cashman after he "wearing the same uniform to start the next season".
December 3, 20187 yr Yeah, Sanchez would say "thank you" to Cashman after he "wearing the same uniform to start the next season". Not sure what that has to do with it, but there's no upside to admitting you shopped a player or offered him in trade talks.
December 3, 20187 yr Hmm, not sure what to think. Glad they did make offers but not sure how much they really want to extend him with those offers.
December 3, 20187 yr Too low on that second offer. I understand starting low on the first offer, but they didn't really do well on that second offer. That being said, Mish's source is likely on JT's side since the fish wouldn't want to get these shitty offers out there. They'd be better off not having these known and just saying they made offers. So we can't be sure they are accurate.
