With free agency and an improved system, it could easily happen before that. Many of the names on the 25-man roster today may not be there in a year or two so speaking of 8 years from now is pretty dumb. People forget the estimated payrolls Jeter and company passed around to investors. It showed numbers of over 100mil in 2020 and 2021. Based on the current roster and minor leaguers who could come up, that would represent a significant amount of money being spent in free agency in the upcoming years.

Guy has a legitimate chance to be Yelly 2.0. Possibly even slightly better. I know that sounds crazy coming off the year Yelich just had, but the kid can flat out hit and is a better base stealer than Yelly.
