The good news (relatively) is that it is the same record as when they only lost 100 in 2013 and fangraphs projects that that the Marlins will only be 1 game worse then 2013 at 61-101. And it looks very good for the 2020 draft order so far. Still its fun to see the rest of the division burn being 4 games under .500 (not including the Marlins) despite each of those teams getting to play the Marlins on a regular basis.

Plus the Marlins are in this position because of half rebuilds which has perpetually left the team "1 or 2 players away." The Nationals had a rebuild where they lost over 100 games in 2008 and 2009. They used those losses to establish their current core which kept them relevant from 2012-present. We can only hope for that kind of success.

May 10, 20197 yr My impression of the Marlins has always been that its a team for players to use as a stepping stone to other real teams. This club is just a joke. In 1997 they bought a WS win, in 2003 they were only good for half the season. The Marlins have never really had a genuine good team that lasted the whole season. And I have been watching the Marlins since 1995, they are the most inconsistent bunch Iv ever seen.Last time we had a winning record was 2009! pathetic. You cant blame fans for not wanting to watch a AA team lose every night. This is not the cubs where people come out for the experience no matter what, Miami is NOT a baseball city.
