Funny how we play Atlanta twice and all there guys are testing positive now we are getting hit with it.

Didn’t Atlanta lose like two catchers due to covid. Must be how the marlins contacted it.

This looks to be happening to the Reds, too.

Matt Davidson tested positive, Moustakas now on the injnured list suddenly, and Nick Senzel has been taken out of the Reds lineup.

You start questioning if everything should have stopped the day Alfaro tested positive. 

 

Cooper lands on the IL consistently, just bad luck obviously but it is amazing how he can't stay away from that list.

The lineup needs a boost in offense if Alfaro, Cooper and Ramirez are out. Bring up Monte.

If I were much of a betting man, I'd estimate about 3/4 of every team will go on the IL due to this even in the abbreviated season. Sadly, the odds alone will probably result in a few deaths as well.

Very unlikely to result in deaths.  There may be a fluke, the the age range that players are in, plus their physical health, put them at well under a 0.01% chance of actual mortality (where for the 20-30 age range mortality is normally ~0.08%).

That said, their chances of death today are about on par with their chances of dying any other day. CDC numbers are pretty clear about that.  You can see that the overall death rates of adults in the 20-40 age groups have not so much as budged from the normal. And these are the healthiest of us, so don't worry too much about them.
