I remember one time during the ‘99 season, my older brother was watching a Cubs game and in the other room my mom who knows nothing about baseball, but knew who Sammy Sosa is because of the HR chase being on the news every day the previous year.

One moment during the game, my brother was watching and said out loud “Mom, Sammy Sosa was caught stealing!” And her response was like a shocked “Nooooooooo”, I think she thought that my brother was watching the regular news and they had actually caught Sammy Sosa stealing something. 😂

I had to explain to her that it was a baseball game and he was trying to steal a base. 😂
