Iowa

Yep that's right. Nothing says a Boston vs Miami game like a dude from Iowa. Am I even allowed to do this? Ah well, let's go streaking boys!!

Cody Poteet (2-0, 1.06) vs Martin Perez (2-2, 3.55)

What a hilarious job of managing, to say that Adam Duvall, one of the best defenders in baseball, is the DH because he "needs" a day off. Meanwhile, Garrett Cooper, who has already cost the Marlins two wins with his play in the outfield AND is coming off an injury, starts in the field instead.

And in literally the largest right field in baseball.

Because he is not managing, a computer is.

Oh no no no, quite the opposite. This is the "human element" rearing it's ugly head. No way an algorithm ever says "bench your best hitter when all of your other good hitters are also out" or "have your best fielder DH when the worst fielder then has to play in one of the hardest outfields in baseball"

Computer wasn't the best word. More like random number generator.

Verdugo played well against us last time didn't he?  Was he the Marlins killer last time we faced the Sox?  Seemed like it anyway but maybe it was just a big hit or something I'm thinking of.

7-14 against us in 2020, 1.105 OPS
