They should go fully opposite direction and have the fielders moving to different spots on the field at all times.

Having Avisail play CF will accomplish the same thing.

fuck, who to blame now

It's still both sides really but this most recent development really seems like a stupid thing for the players to fight over especially when they were given the option to continue negotiating on the draft later.

the union is playing with fire

Union doesnt want a 3 year CBA which would be the case when the International Draft isnt agreed to.

There are WAY too many Latin players willing to die on this hill over an international draft.

This compromise is basically a free year of talk over this draft, but not reopen the whole CBA 2 years earlier so management can lock out players again.

Just can't wait to see an empty ballpark in the first game of the season (if have a season ), because that's what they deserved.

That is not good for MLB owners as Durbin isn't Ted Cruz screaming about moving the allstar game, or someone like Bernie holding minority viewpoints on MiLB labor pay (e.g. minimum wages). I think teetering into politics on a sports message board is Defcon 1 territory, however the point is Durbin is closer to the middle/rational/sane and will get things done if pressed. Given the Bernies and the Cruzs all agree on this issue (even if for radically, radically, different reasons), MLB owners better watch out as a large consensus will not be difficult to build if both far wings are already all-in on this. Maybe baseball brings us together?

The irony isn't escaping me here that MLB owners are digging in as they likely feel their antitrust is at risk in the future (they should be doing this).... but they did so too hard and this is just adding the fuel to that fire. I feel they are shooting themselves in the foot in some respect and they just expedited the end of the exemption. They probably should have shot for 80-90% of what they are asking for and closed a month ago. The exemption for another decade I assume is worth more than whatever finer details remain. But who knows. Maybe I'm wrong and the government keeps letting them have it so it's an empty threat.

Anyways, I'm still Defcon 1 about getting a CF/radical team improvements/trading prospects/spending money, so please can we get to that already as I want to know if I can stop following this team forever after decades of mismanagement.

Man, I wish the Wilpons would have sold to anyone but Cohen.

Seriously.

He's got enough money where he would have said "Fuck you Jeff, and (New Owner Name Here).... I'm going to buy the Marlins and out Met the Mets!".

His vengeance would have been our savior.
