Going to Opening Day?

Featured Replies

So I'll be in Miami for an Opening Day for the first time in...15 years? I'm strongly considering going to the game, but I've only been to Marlins Park twice, and they were both in the very very bad years where it didn't matter where you bought a ticket because you'd be one of maybe 30 people in the stadium anyway. I'm assuming more folks will show up that Thursday, so I'd love to know any Marlins Park tips or tricks that any of you might have. What's your favorite section to catch a game from? What's parking like? Do any of us really know what love feels like?

I think you’re overestimating how many will be there.  But given it’s opening day it may be more than a normal crowd.

I usually park at a plaza down the street for $10 and walk a block over.  They were charging $20 for parking I don’t know if that’s changed.

I thought about making the drive up, but, you know...work.

Then I was going to go down to Anaheim to see the Marlins there, but I'll be in Miami when they are in Anaheim, which is annoying.

I am a fan of baseball but definitely not a fan of stepping in San Fran hobo sidewalk poop.

I have some friends that live there, had I thought about it, I could've planned a trip out there.

I've already got my tickets to the Brewers series at the end of the year and a Saturday Cubs game in August. Gonna try and get to one in St Louis in June but its in the middle of the week

it's really not that bad up there as long as you avoid the Tenderloin and some parts of the Mission. Most of SF is beautiful!

I moved from WPB to the Bay Area in February and got tickets to the game on Sunday. Spent way too much on first row tickets behind home, but it’s my only chance to see them out here until they visit Oakland. Can’t wait!

This is true. Also, there's a chance to be compassionate to people who in many cases have been screwed over and get far too little decency from residents who desensitize themselves to the rampant homelessness and the humanity of the individuals experiencing it.
