He also had some durability concerns. He’s being overvalued by some of the people posting on here. Arraez has more value than him, which is why Salas had to be included. We might regret including Salas, but I don’t really care at this point. We have Sandy Alcantara signed for the next 5 years. It’s our one advantage so I don’t care what Salas is going to do for us at the age of 24 when Sandy’s pitching for the team that gives him $500 million. Salas hasn’t hit yet in the minors anyway, and we don’t exactly have a great track record of developing young hitters. I mean... You arent wrong at all here.
January 22, 20233 yr In the past 3 days @hoverticalhas praised Kim Ng, @SonOfJack has defended Craig Mish, @TaiwanAstros might be happy, and now @Das Texan has agreed with @Erick At this rate Kim Ng will have achieved world peace by the end of the week.

January 23, 20233 yr Author One thing I am not seeing mentioned, is the WBC factoring into this. Jazz is going to be away from the team for the WBC and likely won't be playing CF for Great Britain. That's less time for him to learn a totally new position.

The thing too is that he at least has the speed to make up for some misreads. Jeezy on the other hand ... did not have that? He's not a slow runner either of course but he's not elite speed Jazz tier.

January 28, 20233 yr I said Jazz wouldn't play for GB this year the first time it was mentioned several months ago. Looks like ol' SilverBullet was right again tbh.
January 29, 20233 yr Good on Jazz for being a team player, but his value is at 2B/SS. Hope this works out AND he plays all of them this season.

He played poorly at short in the bigs when given the chance but did well at second. That said, his value playing a decent CF will be more than a strong 2B.

January 29, 20233 yr Actually laughed cuz the caption from Jazz was "hitting with the Chef" instead of "Sheff" and so I legitimately thought the team chef was helping with hitting drills, figured Bruce was saving some money, then after Sheffield turned to look at the camera I realized who he was.

They really should embrace the former Marlins who want to be involved. And even better when it's Marlins "legends" like JP and Sheff, not that it isn't nice when Gaby Sanchez and others are there but you know. Also, is JP still an organizational coach? How long ago was that hire and is that still a thing? Feels like we heard about that hiring and then literally never heard about it or him again.
January 30, 20233 yr It's really very difficult for me to believe they're do their best to try to acquire a CF if they think they would successful to transfer Jazz to a CF in the beginning of the off-season, with this thinking in mind you would see a fair deal to an overpaid one because you believe you already have a good CF in the team.

If they really think Jazz can be a good CF then why overpay for someone who might not be better, like Kepler? If they can get someone clearly better, like Reynolds, they'll do it but not for someone who is lesser than Jazz.

Could be! Though if the difference truly was "normal vs. slight overpay", I think the team would benefit more from the latter.
February 1, 20233 yr Maybe this team is really had high confidence on Jazz in the CF, I believe it's just the Plan Z and still have Plan A to Plan Y ahead of that to their CF situation.
