David Robertson to the Marlins

Who?

Nevermind, just looked him up. Longtime Yankees pitcher. Never heard of him before but I guess he is a well known pitcher. Good, I guess?

People really confused on this guy? He was with the Phillies too as well as Mets and Yankees. Not a random guy I think.

Well to be honest I hardly keep up with other teams bullpens so even though I’m sure Robertson has pitched many times vs the Marlins over the years I don’t think I have ever heard that name before. The only rival relief pitchers I can name off the top of my head are like Craig Kimbrel, Edwin Diaz, Ranger Suarez(just because Ranger is not a real name) and Aroldis Chapman(but don’t even remember what team he currently plays for- Reds, maybe?). 😂

I don't go out of my way to keep up with other bullpens. I just recognize this name from over the years. Didn't think he was an obscure name at all.

It clearly solves a problem but this is a an overpay for 2 months of a relief pitcher.

Hahahaha some of you are overreacting a little bit as far as the exchange of players..

I’m sure all of us remember in 2003 when the Marlins traded their number 1 overall pick Adrian Gonzalez as well as Ryan Snare and another minor leaguer for a several month rental of Ugeth Urbina.

This deal for Robertson is nothing compared to that deal in 2003.

Those of you calling this an overpay, be honest: you'd never heard of those two guys before today. They are both teenagers. The odds that either guy ever plays in a Major League Baseball game are well under 10%. Plus, they're position players, we were going to ruin their development anyway.

Every single prospect the marlins trade is considered an all star even though they were never heard of the day before. Look up Bryan Chourio and Jose Salas (were those the real names) for proof of that.

Got him for 2 snot nosed punk teenagers!

"Omg dont trade away our prospects for a playoff run!!!!" Kiss my booty... trade all those loser kids outta here cuz I want a winning season!

Must hoard every prospect even if we have to look up who they are before saying we should hoard them.

Last post before others reply since I’m spamming at this point…

Rookie League players are not projectable.  I need to find a stat but I’m assuming most never make it. I’ll trade the entire rookie league for guys to help this season.
