October 16, 20232 yr Just now thinking of the optics when the Marlins hire a male GM and the media presents it as some toxic masculinity crap to purposely replace a female GM with a male one. How dare they!
October 16, 20232 yr A thought on the supposed restructuring plan. Maybe Bruce wanted to bring in a Pres of Baseball Ops that would have taken power away from Kim? If that's the case then hell yea I don't blame her wanting out.
October 16, 20232 yr Wow, Sherman picked up the option but NG walked away. Wonder what’s going on. Could she want more money?
October 16, 20232 yr Big wow, yikes even. Why would she walk away. Not like there’s another opening she can waltz into unless she might be in the running in SD or Boston? says a lot Sherman wanted her back but she declined her option. Could money be a factor?
October 16, 20232 yr This is probably for the best honestly. The Marlins were dead last in the NL in Runs Scored this year. Ya, they made the playoffs, but that was on the back of a fluky record in one-run games. The lackluster run differential (by far the lowest of any playoff team this year) could easily be more representative of the season they had. The farm system is also in dire straights. I look forward to a new voice that can hopefully turn this offense around. Edited October 16, 20232 yr by jsprt14

For Ng to walk, from a guaranteed GM job says something about Sherman’s ownership that isn’t exactly favorable.

Shortcomings or not, she got them to the playoffs in the final year of her deal so she succeeded in year 3 of a 3 year plan... this means she earned herself the chance to return with more than a one year deal behind her. She was successful despite whatever shortcomings she had. She did what her job asked her to do. To say she only earned a one year deal from that is ridiculous. The team got themselves to the playoffs. Had she been more active with roster management it likely would not have been as close to the end of the season that they got in. She never improved with that aspect of her job her entire tenure so....yeah, I don't think they'll be any worse with who they bring in to replace her assuming they don't sit on their hands like she did in refusing to bring up guys that could help the team out when needed. You seem to think I'm calling her an awful GM or something and I'm not. I'm saying shes an average GM overall who excelled in one area and was pretty damn bad in the other. I would have been fine to run it back with her for another year but I don't feel like she earned some mega deal either.

More off field distractions when we should be celebrating a successful season and building on the on field product before anything else. Yeah I didn't care one way or another of she stayed or left but I'll agree it will certainly looks really damn bad once again. Make playoffs in 2020...do literally NOTHING during offseason and become laughing stock again....make playoffs in 23 and immediately fail to capitalize on good will once again lol Fantastic owner. He really gets it!

October 16, 20232 yr My god, how much time will be wasted on the hiring process and then on the new guy learning the organization and all that silliness. We're basically gonna have a non existent front office for a couple of months when this team needs to be aggressors in acquiring upgrades. This is so bad. Wait until @TaiwanMarlins realizes how much slower this offseason is gonna be now.
October 16, 20232 yr Author So if true, she just simply wants final say on things. Could have promoted her to that spot and then added another person for GM, perhaps.
