October 19, 20232 yr I'm glad Kim told Bruce to go fuck himself. Also who cares what the record would have been 10 years ago and if they would have gotten in with a 3rd wild card. Thats flat out stupid honestly. All teams are playing within a set confies of rules and operating as such. To go back and play the what if game is stupid really if you ask me. Malrins got to the playoffs for the first time in a full season since 2003 here in 2023 and Kim was rewarded with being a lame duck essentially for 2024, which was stupid and typical Bruce Sherman. Jeff Loria was such a far better owner tbh. Though he did fuck over the Marlins in true Loria fashion by not selling the team to Mas.
October 19, 20232 yr Also, I don't know if it was mentioned, senior director of international operations Adrian Lorenzo is also departing the organization.

That said, unless Skip says he wants out - I don't see anyone giving him the axe after the season he just had (even though he seems like a dude who could totally play the guitar)
October 20, 20232 yr I'd agree it's not overly fair to criticize her for draft issues, if she was only last year able to take control, but still not have her people in place. Even though she's been GM for 3 years, there were clearly others making calls. But that gets into the what can be attributed to her, and what can be attributed to others argument - you can't give her all the good moves, and them all the bad, and vice versa.

October 20, 20232 yr Sherman really doing a great job of capitalizing on a successful season. Christ they make it so difficult.

To know Sherman had this in mind I dont know how he could celebrate with Kim and Skip in Pittsburgh when they clinched. I dont know how can join the party that night, then stab them in the back. I watched every game this year either live or on bally app replay and I dont imagine watching nearly as much next year. I was excited about this year but I have not much feelings anymore for the team. I feel whenever something good begins to happen here the rich greedy fucks will just fuck it up so they can buy some new mansions and yachts. I remember everyone hating Loria when he was here and would do anything to get a new owner but now everyone will realize it will only get worse.
October 21, 20232 yr I forgot that Ng was also a Jeter choice with ties to NY Yankees and Sherman seems very hellbent on getting rid of all of those ties (which, were all pretty piss poor hires to be fair -excluding Ng)
October 21, 20232 yr only time will tell how this turns out. maybe it will be better or worse. our baserunning cant be much worse. who knows maybe the use the extra money on a better homerun costume.
October 22, 20232 yr I've been defending the move a bit lately. She made some good trades earlier but I absolutely despise the no defense, no speed track she has done here. Too many unathletic players who cant stick to their positions. We get some power, but it comes at a cost of batting average, base-running and defense. She may not have deserved to be fired but it was a reasonable ask to tell her to let go of the issue scouts.
