Marlins giving $5 million to Anderson when they could have gone for Rosario who signed for $1.5 million sure goes against the Marlins are cheap narrative.

Does this mean Jazz really did know they were signing Tim?

My White Sox friends -> "He'll either rake or be a complete dumpster fire"

Hoping for the rake

He was an all star two years ago.  Last year was odd for sure.  He's only 30.  He's going to be bad defensively though.

Absolulte essentially zero risk signing by the Marlins.

If he returns to pre 2023 form, then he takes this season and turns it into a probable 3 year deal somewhere.

If he continues his 2023 form, then the Marlins can easily cut bait and be rid of him.

No idea which version Marlins are getting, but its a 1 year deal and those are rarely bad all things being equal.

Now they need to go ink up JD Martinez, 1 year plus option of some sort and its a done deal and none of your future (which isnt remotely ready) is jeopardized.
