Stadium optimism: One week from a team-imposed deadline, Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria said he remained optimistic he would secure money for a ballpark by March 15.

 

"We're working on it. There are meetings and sessions going on, and that's all I want to say,'' he said.

Better Miami Marlins then Washington Senators. I think we'll leave the Expos to turn into the Senators. That, or perhaps they can become the Puerto Rico Pigs. It has a nice ring to it.

Right now the County's priority has become satisfying Miami Beach's claim, at least partially, first, then offering the remainder to the Marlins.

 

The roof, which seemed a done deal a week ago, may be in jeopardy again.

Now would be a good time for the state to step in and possibly help this team. Jeb always said that he wasn't going to help a team that drew so little in attendance and you know that attendance is going to be up big time this year.

Where did you read about the county trying to settle the Miami Beach claim? Just curious. A resolution/compromise on that is much better than litigation and may remove the hammer of the deadline.
