  1. Even though I HATE to trade good players within the devision do you think the braves would give us Evan Gattis and maybe a couple of prospect for Ricky nolasco? I like Brantly but we have no catching depth.
  2. They're also apparently going to try out Jeff Mathis at SS. He's a little slow but they think his bat will pick up, and he has a lot of experience at baseball. Yeah right
  3. and they're doing it again today. I don't know about you but it getting really hard watching that. Automatic outs.
  4. Is there a chance that olmos can start? We don't have no lefty starters. The plan is to have him start and then have him close on the four days he does not start because we have no closer. Olmos brings the stink! That's the plan in the future, but the Marlins aren't doing it right now. They're worried about Olmos' durability. They think he'll get injured right now if they do that to him. If you noticed, we played 30 innings last weekend in NY and Olmos did not pitch. The Marlins are making sure that Olmos eats a lot of beef cakes in games before they throw him out there a lot. That sounds crazy. Link? I've been watching the games and that's my opinion based on what I see. But it's also a fact. If they try to use him to start AND close then his arm is going to get injured real fast. I really hope they don't plan to do that. After a long start the arm needs to rest at least 3 days. If they try that with him they are crazy. I hope your wrong about it.
  5. *throws a chair* Me to. This stuff makes me so mad why can't they just let the guys play would you rather watch Sammy Sosa and mark magwire compete against each other hitting 70 homers or watch the leader of the MLB have 40 homers and the marlins leader will have 10 at the end of the year. I want dingers from the big boys.

  7. Redmond seems like the type of guy who would continue to start Pierre just because he likes having speed at the top of the lineup. This is almost certainly the principal reasoning involved, whether or not the decision comes from Redmond or the front office. They probably continue to start Pierre because they don't have a "true lead-off man" to replace him with. It is quite the testament to the Marlins' stupidity. Yeah this. Have we seriously not moved past the idea that you have to force a slap-hitting fast guy into the leadoff spot? It's not like Ruggiano is slow either, and he'll knock the occasional homer and can throw. I wouldn't bat him leadoff necessarily but even that would be preferable to this. Despite the record, the season doesn't need to be a waste. Ruggiano is a player that may still have some use, either as 4th OF, light trade bait, whatever. JP and Polanco really have zero value. They're great guys and have been good players in their career and I'm sure they set good examples for their teammates, blah blah blah, but this team is starting over and you're simply wasting meaningful at-bats. Yeah this team has potential to be good if they would stop letting the old big head and the old peanut head play every day.
  8. I don't understand why the MLB has to get in everybody's business what try put in to there body. Why does it matter? Would they rather have all there players getting hurt or looking skinny and unhealthy who wants to watch that?? They should be able to use anything they want that makes them bigger an stronger and hit it deeper and harder and I need my players big and bad. Who wants to see a cleanup hitter with small arms get up there and swing like a girl? Let them get beefy and hit 500 feet long dingers its for our entrrtaininmet that WE PAY FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Polanco might be headed for the DL, blessing in disguise. And Pierre will hit the bench as soon as Yelich is called up. He should already be on the bench with Ruggiano starting. I wonder what they will do with Pierre and Ruggiano when Yelich make the splash because we don't need that many outfielders.
  10. Velocity isnt as important as movement, deceptiveness, and variety of pitches. Matt Lindstrom could chisel stone with his fastball, but it was flat and he had no secondary pitches so he was often times quite awful. This is why people doubt Eovaldi's potential. His secondary pitches are not great and his 4 seamer has little movement(compared to his 2 seamer). I actually completely disagree, I think Eovaldi has pretty damn good stuff. Probably the best pure stuff in the rotation outside of Fernandez.I agree. My eyes tell me that he will develop in to a top rotation starter. He can bring the stink.
  11. Is there a chance that olmos can start? We don't have no lefty starters.
  12. This guy can't be real, this is unbearable, seriously. I don't get how so much crap falls out of his mouth every time he opens it. I'm not walking I'm typing and it's not crap it's my opinion and also it's a fact.
  13. I'm not sure why these guys are playing at all. It serves no purpose. I think Redmond is just showing himself to be a terrible manager with a preference for hard headed old school dogma and over attachment to his veteran players (why else does he play Jeff Mathis?). I hope the front office doesn't ignore his stupidity just because this is a lost season. For sure it serves no purpose. But, attachment? He didn't sign Pierre or Polanco or Mathis, he's just stuck with them. With any luck, Polanco is out for a month or more. Pierre's been hitting a little, but he still sucks. Olivo will be gone long before Mathis, although neither should be here. No way Redmond gets fired, no matter what he does or doesn't do. After going through Gonzales, Rodriquez and Guillan within about 2 years, they can't afford any more failed management choices. Redmond is on a cheap 3-year deal on a team that's expected to be horrible. He's immune from any criticism that matters in terms of his job. Look on the bright side. Next year, there will be no Polanco, no Pierre, no Olivo, no Nolasco, maybe no Ruggiero, maybe no Slowey, maybe no Cishek and the list goes on and on. A month or so ago I said half of the guys here then won't be here in a year and was met with derision. I still say that regarding the guys still here today. Some of them who were here a month ago are already gone and the turnover will continue. The only locks for next year are Stanton, Ozuna, Deitrich, Morrison, Hechavarria, Brantly, Hernandez, Turner, Alvarez and Eovaldi. Maybe Webb and Dunn. That's only a dozen guys, assuming that they don't trade some of them, which they probably will. This team is in flux and anything can happen, but Redmond ain't going anywhere no matter what he does.I don't think he's got what it takes and it doesn't speak Spanish. Also he was not a very good player so it is hard for him to make players respect what he says.
  14. Solano and his career .674 OPS and 5 HR in almost 1000 AAA at bats is coming to New Orleans...prepare to be DESTROYED Pacific Coast League. You have been warned. I feel bad for the AAA pitching prospects who have to face him. Pitching against Solano shouldn't count against their WHIP and ERA. It just wouldn't be fair. They already have that rule for Brian Peterson and jordan brown they are not going to change all of the rules just because of our prospects.
  15. I am beginning to think that the team can never reach 500 with Redmond as a manager. He does not know how to put a lineup together that can win against other teams and defeats us without the other team having to even do anything. With him in charge I don't see how we will get back to 500 or any better web once Evoldi and Yelich are here. Ricky nolasco did not have focus in his start either which all of that is on Redmond to. He needs to keep his players heads in the game to perform the best.
  16. I'm not Donovan Solano. If I was I would tell everybody and be proud.
  17. Polanco needs to retire. He doesn't do anything for this team. Nothing at all. At least Pierre is having fellowship day beast mode for Christ next week and that is really cool but polanco does NOTHING for the marlins or the fans.
  18. He had 3 good years and 1 great year. He's our all-time home run leader. He was no where near our worst ever second baseman. You are right he didn't have only one good year he had 2 with a good average his rookie year and his last year here. And he was never injure and that has alot to do with him being a beefcake and good conditioning an at least he hit plenty of home runs unlike Bret barberie and quilvio Veras.
  19. Uggla had only one good year with us and can't hit the pitch anymore. And he embarrassed u at the Allstar game. Then he cried and left town.
  20. Gallardo was lights out tonight. Stanton looked rusty but he will get back into the swing of things (lol). As for Lomo I thought I wa watching Frankenstein play baseball today. I did t know that monsters played games. Dietrich looked horrible and Ricky nolasco had a off night. We will be back at them tomorrow I hope. Still got to get to 500. Hopefully polancos back shuts him down the rest of the year and hopefully Pierre feels like staying by his bedside to comfort his fellow veteran so Ruggiano can play a little. I'm not going to mention Solano because I will just start a argument but he will be back soon and then I will mention him when he leads the team in batting average at the end of the season Is Solano your boyfriend or something?NO I like female!!!!!
  21. I'm not really sure what ... Is that your list of our "bad" third basemen? Lowell was amazing. Not in 2005. It was just a list to compare all the 3 rd basemen. Lowell had some good years and was a rock hard stud at the hot corner. He could ding it and the average was average. Except he made us missed the playoffs in 2005 and that is what I will always remember from him. The other 3 rd basemen though take a look.its interesting.
  22. Lmao @ Solano being traded to a division rival and making us pay. He won't be traded cuz nobody wants him. 2, if he's traded to any other team besides the Marlins, he's probably not even on their 25man rosters. Hell he just got demoted from our own roster and we're the worst team there is. If you can't be on the Marlins' roster, how can u think about being on Atlanta, Philly, or DC's rosters? 3rd, if he someone ends up playing on another team against us, there's no way he'd make us pay. The only team in our devision that would not want him as a upgrade at 2 nd base is Philadelphia because Utley is better then Solano. So yeah I admit that chase Utley is better then Solano. Players always make you pay in your devision if you trade them. They come back with big motavtion don't you see when Hanley plays us he all of a sudden becomes super Hanley man. Same when we traded Carlos Delgado and even Dan Uggla the worst 2 nod basemen in the history of the marlins. Players get motivated and do the monster mash to there former teams all the time.
  23. Dietrich had one of the best swings of the night. For an out, but still. And you keep saying "monster" about some players, but now claim you didn't know monsters played baseball. Lol that's true. Some players hit like monsters but yeah I didn't know that REAL monsters played lol. Outs are outs no matter what so whether its a line drive a popper or a ground ball it's still out. Some players know how to put a good chop on the ball to get it through the infield and some players hot the ball the other way and some players up the middle or pull it. Any way you eat it it's still a hit and it counts.
  24. Dave magadan Kevin orie Dave berg Terry Pendleton Mike Lowell Jerry brown Bobby Bonilla Placido polanco
  25. I don't like Solano only e cause he's Colombian. I knew he was going to be a good player when I first saw him play and I knew he would shine last year and he did. I am very good at judging talent I have predicted the rise of alot of the teams stars. Solano is a good player and if he doesn't get his chance here I just hope they don't trade him in the devision because he will be making us pay for it for years after. Mark my words down. The kid has heart and talent and faith and he will be back and better then he ever was. This will only make him stronger and when he comes bac you will all believe to because you will not have a choice.
