Class A Batting averages...
Listen Buster, I resemble that remark, but the Marlins track record ain't that great...in fact, it sucks. The big diff between this rebuild and the Cubs and Astros is they had smart, competent people in the front office.

Class A Batting averages...
Well, obviously the Marlins brain trust is focused on stockpiling arms and acquiring toolsy prospects who can't hit. We'll see how that works out in the long run. I'm not impressed with their decisions.

Class A Batting averages...
Clinton has team average of .229 and Jupiter is at .204, with lots of recent high draft picks under .200. Not my idea of the path to a successful rebuild.

Hanley Ramirez DFAd
I'm surprised the Mets did not grab him...Bautista,Reyes & Hanley could be the new three amigos.

$3.00 & $4.00 tickets

$3.00 & $4.00 tickets
I don't see a whole lot of difference between 3 bucks and free...just sayin...are those gonna count in attendance figures ?

2018 Draft
They have to draft high school players...a college player will be over the hill by the time the Marlins contend.

Brinson
But, I thought you guys had him pegged for NL Rookie of the year in spring training ? Not all rebuilds are going to culminate in a World Series parade just cuz it happened in Chi-town and Houston. They have smart people in the front office, we don't.

Andre Dawson now runs a funeral home
Oh Lord. Do we need any more proof that Derek Jeter is the second coming of Gordon Gekko ? I absolutely despise Jeter. The baseball gods are not going to look kindly on him.

Mets want Realmuto
I don't think any of those guys have played in the U.S. prior to this year, which makes it hard to crack the the top 100 unless you are an established Cuban or Japanese player.
-
Mets want Realmuto
It would be nice if the Marlins could pry away Andres Gimenez (mets #1 prospect) or maybe a Mauricio and Hernandez package. All these guys are under 20, which is what the marlins need.

Starting Shortstop
Ynmanol Marinez , yea he's a bit young, but who cares.

Do you want Jeter to keep the sculpture?
Yep...but early returns not looking good. I would have never taken Castro and given given away int pool space. Guzman is going to have to be really, really, really good.
-
Do you want Jeter to keep the sculpture?
You can't tell me he did not have significant input in the two Yankee trades.
-
Do you want Jeter to keep the sculpture?
I know he was Jeter's first minor league manager and all, but not convinced that his front office success was anything more than following Cashman's orders. Not impressed with his trades.

Do you want Jeter to keep the sculpture?
If you haven't noticed, that's jeter's blueprint... hiring Denbo, installing Captains Camp, hiring Severino

Julio Pablo Martinez cleared to sign beginning 3/6
Martinez was just fined $100,000 for incorrect paperwork filed to MLB, payable when he signs. I think he is chomping at the bit to get to ST...and who can blame him ?
-
Do you want Jeter to keep the sculpture?
It may be tacky, and certainly not the kind of thing you would ever see at The Stadium, but Jeter needs to get it thru his head that owning the Marlins is not all about him turning them into an extension of the Yankees. Leave it up.

MLBPA files grievance over revenue sharing
I read somewhere that they tried to move Castro, but would have had to pay 50% or more of his contract...and were unwilling to do that.

Who is the one player in franchise history that you look back on and wonder why they never met their potential?
Jamie Jones -1st round pick 1995

What would you consider to be a great season this year?
Since I'm a farm fluffer at heart, winning Minor League championships would make me happy. And what the hell, let's go ahead and win the grapefruit League.
-
What would you consider to be a great season this year?
If history repeats itself, the Marlins will win their next World Series in 2104. Sherman is the new Frazee. Stanton is the new Ruth. Yankee cronyism=bad mojo.

What would you consider to be a great season this year?
Well, pull out a map and locate Cuba and the Dominican Republic and Miami. Then explain to me why the Marlins shouldn't be the most aggressive team in the international free agent Market. The climate and the Latin community should be much more of an advantage than what we are seeing now. Of course , the teardown has its advantages as well in terms of not blocking prospects from reaching the major league quickly. Those poor guys that are signing with the Yankees are in for a rude awakening unless they get traded...

Part IV Project Wolverine: Jeter proves he hasnt gone to Business 101
Wow! Someone else out there is not drinking the Kool-Aid.

Seeing Chen get comeback player of the year and unloading him at the trade deadline for all of another team's International bonus pool space after signing pablo martinez. Okay I know thats dreaming so how about no Tommy John surgeries for the Marlins pitchers.
