The Nationals argued for a $3.65 million salary for the right-hander, who was 7-4 with a 3.19 ERA and 29 saves last season. My only comment is that his agents did him a disservice in not putting in a higher number. 9-10 Million would have been interesting. Exactly my point. Yep, that's correct. It's gonna be a rematch of last year's finale (when Venezuela won in the bottom of the 9th inning against Dominican republic). It will be followed by Mexico vs Puerto Rico at 7:30. One thing I did not know is that you purchase a ticket for THAT DAY. In other words, you get a seat for BOTH the afternoon and evening games and they have some sort of "halftime" show sorta to entertain fans while they get ready to play the second game.

And by the way, the Aragua team will be without Miguel Cabrera and Renyel Pinto in the Caribbean World Series. The Marlins decided it was best for them to rest (and avoid injury). where did you see/hear this? The games will be on Fox Sports en Espa?ol. I know Comcast cable carries it on Ch 603. I'm pretty sure DirecTV and/or Dish Net offer it as well.

I don't know if he's interested in actually playing in the Caribbean World Series. I know everyone says take it one game (or one series) at a time, but I would have hoped he'd sound more excited since his team is up two games to none in a best of seven series.

Yep, very surprised to see only one Marlin in the top 50, with an Honorable mention to Tucker. I definately thought we would see AT LEAST one, maybe two of our SP in the top 15. I would guess they based their rankings on how close they are to sticking with the ML team (which would explain them choosing Alex Gordon #1). I am glad they are having it at the old one and not the new one. Meh, it's a below average place to watch a game... true, but its still yankee stadium... Yes, it would be nice to have the ASG one last time at Yankee Stadium before it goes away. The Cardinals are getting it for 2009. It would be interesting to find out what the requirements will be to be for NY and St. Louis fans to able to purchase the tickets to the festivities. I know that for the ASG this year in SF the Giants were only making the tickets available to season ticket holders who sign on for 2007 AND 2008 season ticket packages!

Dukes charged with marijuana possession Troubled Devil Rays prospect Elijah Dukes was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession after a traffic stop in Tampa on Monday night. Tampa police stopped Dukes and a passenger, Willie Evans, for a loud music violation and, according to police, officers noted "a distinct odor of marijuana" coming from inside the 2006 Dodge Charger. After searching the vehicle, police found what they said was less than two grams of marijuana in the center console. Dukes, 22, was expected to come to spring training next month with a strong chance to make the major league team as a reserve outfielder. The Rays initially had no comment on the arrest. Dukes has been arrested several times previously, and also has been in trouble with the Rays, having been suspended several times last season for on- and off-field incidents. yes he could play CF...but why? You take a position of strength which is SS and convert it to a weak spot as well. Andino hasn't shown anything that will lead us to believe the team is better with him at SS. He is not even counted on as a utility player Agreed. Plus, he's a moody guy. Remember how he reacted when he was told he was assigned to AAA last season at the end of ST? We don't need guys with bad attitudes on the club.
