*Far Out* Draft Talk
BOOOOO, but i get it. I was gonna make a deadpool "["Black"] Tom" and "[White] Wade Wilson" joke, but i can't keep breaking the fourth wall. [Red] Kool-Aid Man insurance is expensive.

Uh-oh
To be honest, it doesn't concern me at all. I think the day that it comes out they're dating a Castro family member or walk around with a Hammer and Sickle tattoo is the day I worry. Or a photo of them sitting on Raul's lap like Santa Claus. The media who wants to make a big deal out of it (Anti Castro and Anti Marlins) will do so, and the media that see's this as it is (Political Refugees escaping for freedom and money) will not even care to mention it. Unlike Ozzie, who was just a moron.

2018-2019 Off-Season Thread
This, the name is repeats a thosand times a day by beat reporters, tv, replay shows, internet videos, recaps, and even betting sites. The name may not matter much locally, but as far as brand awareness for a product... its huge. The missed opportunity was the 2017 ASG, but by then the wheels were already turning to sell the team. If we're gonna name the ballpark, I want a national brand. Bring on Bacardi Ballpark, or something similar. I don't want Micosukee or Publix on the side, reminds me of a minor league team.... oh wait. Fuck.

2018-2019 Off-Season Thread
I assumed Loria didn't want a liquor company on the side of the building. I think I read somewhere MLB doesn't allow hard liquor to be a naming sponsor, and for years wouldn't let alcohol be a sponsor period. That's why there was "Busch Stadium" and Budweiser eventually created Busch Beer AFTER the name was on the stadium. Eventually Busch Stadium II was the same idea. Busch III , the current one is a beer sponsorship. Same with Miller Park at first.

Uh-oh
I had a long thought out post, and either it was deleted or when I couldn't access the site earlier it was removed as this is a backup image of the forum? Long and short, don't discount the fact that they were in a communist country with a dictatorship that has long been known to imprison it's political detractors and in some instances kill them as well. Cubas Civil and Human Rights violation are long and immeasurable. They still have family and relatives in Cuba and being claimed as an enemy of the state will only shun and make their lives miserable- regardless of their personal beliefs. Sometimes you have to sacrifice your dignity to ensure your and your families freedom. I take these quotes as that considering how the Castros rose to power and what they did to their political opposition while operating a dictatorship 18 years into the 21st century.

New Logo Coming
Driving in to work today, saw what I feel are the colors of the new logo in the sunrise and on the buildings behind the ballpark. Drving i-95 when I took these, not entirely sure if you can see what I'm talking about. I'm digging the Black on Black more and more. Some of the buildings behind the Ballpark are lit up with Purple and pink lights, and some with a weird shade of blue that looks similar to the new logo.

Marlins officially sign Mesa brothers
Walking down Felo Ramirez Drive like Wounded Flamingos in heels one size too big or two sizes too small.

New Logo Coming
Yup. It was a nice concept. I just don't know if the names work. Those Neutral site NCAA games are pretty cool, just because of the pop of color.

New Logo Coming
Yes, black AND an "Earned Alternate". NBA got rid of location designations and teams can wear whatever jersey wherever they want. Association (White or old Home) (White) Icon (Colored or old Road) (Black) Statement (Old Alternate) (Red) City (the white Vice jersey last year, Black this year) Earned (for playoff teams, this year pink)

New Logo Coming
I think were gonna get three caps. A black one like @rmc523's mockup, a black/ blue one similar to the mockup reversed (I think it'll be closer to the current blue) and a BP that has the option to be worn in game thats black and pink.

New Logo Coming
It's pink in my opinion. Pink. Cool. Miami. International. Flamboyant. I can dig pink, I'd like orange (subtle nod to the original primary logo's orange stitches and the 2012 orange). Either way, this logos grown on me to the point where, dare I say it. I'll be disappointed in anything else, even retaining the 2012-2018 set?

It’s Iowa: Marlins Begin New Affiliation With Clinton LumberKings

New Logo Coming
It'll probably be a black M on a teal cap, and a white M on a black cap. kinda like the 2012-2018 sleeve patch M's.

New Logo Coming
The wavy M one i'm not a fan of, The colors are great though. Drop that left side Flourish and I can dig it. Give me the first leak though.

New Logo Coming
The 1st and Red M look like the same Marlin. The bottom left and top right look the same too. Looks like they went w the original Marlin tweaked a bit and then tried to finish the M. Out of these I hope its the top. It lends nicely to a recolor in a few years if they wanna go to the 1993 color scheme or even dump the pink for orange.

New Logo Coming
I do too, and it would chap Jeter's ass the guy he got fired from their flagship and uncredentialed is breaking something as important as this. This is from a SportsBuisnessJournal article about the 2012 rebrand. IDK but these seem like the current one's cousins.

New Logo Coming
Have the Marlins confirmed a press conference for November? Slater knows his stuff, but I got a feeling were preparing for a circus and we're going to end up with a fat kid and sparklers.

New Logo Coming
That company was based outta brooklyn if i remember correctly. Its a nice logoset

New Logo Coming
I got a feeling this is something that's being approved for the 2020 season. Maybe November was the deadline? Seems so quick to get a new logo not even 1 year into an ownership change. Approvals, merchandising, making sure the merchant partners can even make the logo and 1 year lead for aquisition of new materials is the norm. That original one the teal and pink, I feel like we've seen that on the proposed logo sheet in a different color scheme. My understanding from Slaters scoop was change the Marlin orientation (move it ON TOP) of the M and use the Blue top, Orange bottom Marlin from the orange caps. Then make the outline of the M all blue, and dump the yellow and orange accent. A tweak like that is allowed at any time, but a full on rebrand? I can't see that.
