Marlins Name Realmuto and Nicolino Organizational Players of the Year.
For Clarification Fanofthefish you are correct reference to Hammer in his first 3 seasons as a Marlin He caught 15 games 2004 5 out 8 games 2005 8 out of 9 games 2006 2 out of 137 games He has never caught another game since 2006 Roskos played 10 games in 3 seasons for the Marlins caught 4 innings in 1 game He never caught again due to a back injury. What a shame- I think he would have been fun player to root for behind the plate.

Even though Treanor was not drafted by the Marlins he did spend 6 years developing in our minor league sytem He played A ball for us his first seaon so that is as close to home grown as it gets, BTW as we know Hammer did not develop as a catcher for us Hammer made it to MLB as a catcher if I remember correctly. Hatcher too.

Yeah, apparently he was standing on a table in a common area on campus and repeatedly yelling, "fuck her right in the pussy." Hero or moron? He's Damien Wayne's Batman.- 2014 College Football Season
:lol is that what he said? Yep- and a friend said it was glorious!- 2014 College Football Season
Wow. You should be the first person to know what's going on. Oh I do- just wondering why he should watch his mouth. It's gotten me this far.- 2014 College Football Season
ouch Jameis, careful with those internet memes. Why?- Giancarlo Stanton: The Aftermath.

I get it. It would be selfishly glorious to see another Stanton at bat this season, but that's all it would be. I'm more concerned about the mental effects of a ball to the face rather than the physical. I've been there- and I still battle it. It's difficult to put into words the mental anguish you face when you try to get back on the saddle. Diving into it so soon can prevent the doubts from sinking in.- Giancarlo Stanton: The Aftermath.
Legitimate reasons would be: 1. We are in a real playoff race and he can help us win. 2. Contract year and he wants to prove he isn't shaken. 3. It's only July and plenty of baseball to be played. 4. Make a wish foundation kid specifically asks for one last at bat before he dies. I had a long beautiful response to this--- and then this happened.- Giancarlo Stanton: The Aftermath.

Can anyone tell me 3 good reasons why Stanton should play another game this season? To get the image of being hit in the mouth out of his and his teammates minds before 5 months of inactivity. To give him the mental peace that it was a fluke and likely won't happen again. To have a final say on HIS terms how his season will end and hopefully put a cap on a great season. Lastly- to just move on.- Giancarlo Stanton: The Aftermath.

I do hope you're joking about that last line. If there's one thing I am not sir, is a jokester. I assure you none of that was said in jest.- Giancarlo Stanton: The Aftermath.

What about Dietrich or Yelich to first? The marlins have kicked around getting an OF if they can get one easier than a 1B. It would be great if we got Tulo and Cargo from Colorado. Maybe Tulo can play 2B or even 3B with McGehee switchin across the diamond.- Marlins Name Realmuto and Nicolino Organizational Players of the Year.
This franchise has a pretty awful record when it comes to drafting and/or developing catchers. I mean it's CJ and what. That said, I feel like JT is going to turn out pretty well. Greg Zaun? Mike Redmond?- 9/15 Post Game
Bours pretty good. I'd like to see Bour at 1B and Jones in RF for now though. Baker and Kiki at 2B And Solano on outright release waivers.- Will Realmuto be our catcher next year?
Clearly he's been tearin it up. I'm not gonna lie, I fantasize about the marlins having a team with a catcher who can throw a baseball to second, block pitches, and any swinging of a bat would just be a bonus. At Salty''s rate, guys can steal with their hand tied to their foot, his passed balls have also cost us big at times. I was impressed with Realmuto when I saw him play for us his defense looked great. Should/will he be our guy next year? I've rather grown to like Mathis hitting 8th- his defensive game is very much above average. He also seems to call a great game and keep pitchers under control during bad innings. The exception is Ramos today. If Red would use Salty before the 7th and Mathis after as a defensive replacement I think we'd have a great backstop battery. Not exactly Piazza and Zaun or Pratt or Fabregas, but still pretty good. - 2014 College Football Season
