October 5, 200520 yr Looks like Hermida will be in the starting lineup for next season, and then probably for the next 5 years at league minimum. Cabrera has 2 years left I think before his contract is up? I'm not too sure about all this, that's why I'm asking. I just wanna get a jersey that I can wear for a while while the player is still with the team. Do you think Cabrera will stay a Marlin for a long time to come or not? Do you think Hermida will live up to his hype? He sure did finish the season strongly. So basically, which jersey would you invest your money in at this point in time?
October 5, 200520 yr I would get Cabrera just because he's already established. Hermida is an unkown still - although we're pretty sure he's going to be a very good player.
October 5, 200520 yr Author I'm leaning towards Hermida because not as many people will have his jersey yet and certainly not up here in Boston. But it's so tempting to go with a guy who's a shoo in for .300, 30 HRs and 100 RBIs each season.

In all honesty, the only way I see Cabrera leaving this organization would be if he refuses to resign. By the time he's a true free agent, we'll either have a stadium plan in place or be playing somewhere else.
October 5, 200520 yr Cabrera hasn't even entered his arbitration years yet. He'll be here through 2009 at least. You'll have plenty of time to wear out his jersey.

I got a black Marlins D-Train Jersey, they had the light grey shirts at the place I went . . . but at childrens size only and it pissed me off so much. They were just Dalgado and Cabs Jerseys though

I think so.. that might be true, but there still buying tickets, and as long as the person is paying to put there butt in a seat a t pro player I support it, bandwagon or not
October 6, 200520 yr Cabs is the man and the only superstar at this moment, so I would get his jersey, not saying that the hermida jersey won't be a hot ticket in the future.
