Posted November 22, 200519 yr With the marlins getting Hanley Ramirez( Redsox top prospect) i guess you can say goodbye to Gonzo!
November 22, 200519 yr Gonzalez, into the left field corner, this could be trouble, ITS GONE...AND THE MARLINS HAVE WON GAME 4!!!!!! Thank You for that Alex....

November 22, 200519 yr Thanks for the Glove that was Golden to us Marlins fans and for the "SHOT HEARD ROUND MIAMI" in game 4!! Good luck to w/e team you go too..
November 22, 200519 yr Yes, that's another $5-6M per saved. As I said previously projected payroll is now below $55M, and that includes keeping Delgado, Pierre, LoDuca and Castillo.

November 22, 200519 yr Goodbye to the Bass. He will always be one of my all time favorite players for his dazzling defensive plays. Good luck on your next team Alex.

November 22, 200519 yr How is HanRam on defense??? Will Perry Hill make him a Gold Glove winner? :mischief2 He's apparently GG caliber already.....just imagine the difference.
November 22, 200519 yr There will be very few free agents this offseason that will sign contracts that are in line with their talent. That includes Gonzalez. It's a good thing he'll be let go instead of paid more than his double play partner Castillo for multple years. Gonzalez is still a project and not deserving of the multi-year deal he is demanding.

November 22, 200519 yr I still think they'll bring in a Clayton or equivalent and give HR another year or so to mature.
November 22, 200519 yr The question is now who we sign to play SS in 2006? we'll probably bring in someone like Royce Clayton just in case HanRam ain't ready.
November 22, 200519 yr Alex, From the rookie year at the All Star Game in Boston to the World Series in 2003, you are the clutch player in those gem games. Thanks for wearing the teal and the love with the glove.
November 22, 200519 yr I think we can play Ramirez this year, he's one of the top prospects in baseball. He's going to be a better hitter than Gonzalez, that's for sure. I don't think there will be too much of a loss in defense either. I never cared for Sea Bass, because he was basically an automatic out at the plate. The defense didn't make up for that in my mind. Plus, he's certainly not worth $5-6 million, that's for sure.

November 22, 200519 yr The question is now who we sign to play SS in 2006? Is Ramirez not ready? Even if he's not 100% ready, unless he clearly needs more work, why not start him anyway? The team will likely be in "growing" stage anyway, with Hermida & the rotation getting their first years in. Might as well let Ramirez get started. Thanks for your wonderful defense & the big WS homer Alex. But I won't mind seeing a different bat in that SS spot.
November 22, 200519 yr Now what does this do to Andino is he a backup or trade bait Your 2007 starting 2b...
November 22, 200519 yr I wonder if a Hanley/Easley platoon might happen for a brief time I'll miss Sea Bass on the field, but except for the '03 WS Homer, I wont miss his crappy bat
November 22, 200519 yr Now what does this do to Andino is he a backup or trade bait Your 2007 starting 2b... If we do trade Lo Duca, the fan favorite, back to LA, along with Navarro we should also demand Andy LaRoche, or this pipe dream of mine trading something to pry Chris Burke away from the Astros.
