Lefty
We don't have one, and please don't tell me Aguila. Who are we going to trade for? As some people have mentioned, Gathright would be a nice little addition. Maybe we could package Ryan Harvey or something (just throwing out ideas) to get him. I really don't like the idea of not having a true leadoff hitter heading into the season. Obviously there is a lot of time left, so we'll wait and see. CatchTheMarlinFever
there is a lot more we don't have... forget worrying about competiting next season.. in my mind, im pretending baseball is going on strike for a couple years.. at least till I see if they get a new stadium.. if they dont and get relocated, baseball will be extinct to me -One Happy Marlin Fan
Cambridge Marlin
Eric Reed performed better in the PCL, i think he will get a look in ST, along with Aguila if no moves are made.

If you want the Marlins to stay, support them, don't take a hiatus. We as fans need to take some accountability. If everyone pretended "baseball is going on strike for a couple years" then no one would show up to any games. All the people involved in trying to get a new stadium would take that to mean that there is no fanbase, and no reason to build a stadium here. Then baseball would be extinct. wanks1212
If there's a 2B out there who can hit leadoff, I'd be fine with Aguila in CF or LF (if Willy's catching). No Eric Reed, please.
Hotcorner
I can live with Aguila in center. Leadoff is a problem...
Skully
I keep seeing Gathright's name mentioned in conjunction with the Marlins. It seems very realistic. Let's hope that happens.
Fishfan79
how about this lineup? 1. Hermida RF 2. Hanely SS 3. Cabrera 3B 4. Willis SP 5. Jacobs 1B 6. Willingham C 7. Aguila CF 8. Someone 2nd 9. Someone LF  There you go. Personally I would consider Willis at Lead off also
GatorsfortheMarlins
WILLIS for leadoff!!!! he'll hit .300 with extra base potential
Iowa
I keep seeing Gathright's name mentioned in conjunction with the Marlins. It seems very realistic. Let's hope that happens. I agree.. He seems like a great fit. While he might not be the best CF around, I think he'd be exciting to see at the top our lineup finally given the chance to start: CF Gathright C Willy 3B Cabrera 1B Jacobs RF Hermida LF Niner SS Hanley 2B ???  What about Scott Hairston? He's fallen from grace a little bit.. maybe we could acquire him for a mid-level pitching prospect?
prinmemito
That's not a bad lineup at all. I like it.

Iowa
Yea, I've heard that too.. but I'm not at the point where I'm being picky, so I'll take him. :mischief

Hugg
Reg-gie! Reg-gie! Abercrombie that is... :notworthy   Hitting leadoff? His .292 career OBP would be a good fit. Of course, he did skyrocket to a .316 OBP this season. :lol
TSwift25
Probably the best fit for the leadoff spot would be either Hermida or Willingham. I'd go:Â 1-Willingham C 2-Hermida-RF 3-Cabrera-3B 4-Jacobs-1B 5-Conine-LF 6-Ramirez-SS 7-Aguila-CF 8-??-2B 9-Pitcher (lord knows we have enough of them)
jsprt05
1- Aguila 2- Hanley 3- Hermida 4- Cabrera 5- Jacobs 6- Willingham 7- Conine 8- 2nd Base
Hollyberry
This is kinda off topic but.. We should have a contest for "Marlins lineup" "Marlins starting rotation" and see who guesses it right. Maybe Admin could give a free VIP for 1 month. Something fun I guess. If we do start this and maybe keep the contest open until about one or two weeks into the ST season just so we can see what the players have. :thumbup  Good Idea? Ralph
for lead off hitter I wouldnt mind D'Angelo Jimenez he has a career 350 obp.
Hugg
If D'Angelo has his head on straight, I wouldn't mind it. Â If he's going to act like he did with Cincinnati last season, meh.
Fish4Life
Hermida has waaayy to much power to be batting leadoff.. Will be short in power this season so he will be batting in front of Miggy... Im not to sure who will lead off, Im hoping it not Agulia...
