Marlins re-sign Moehler, Harris

Featured Replies

Starting Rotation

1. Dontrelle Willis

2. Brian Moehler

3. Jason Vargas

4. Mitre (unless traded to the d-rays)

5. Scott Olsen/Johnson

that is what I think the roster will look for to start the year.

I expect Brian will be dealt halfway through the year for some specs.

Lenny is old enough to have fathered the entire team.

Good for him. :)

And how do you know he didn't?

:p

It's not the fact that it's deferred, it's that it's being given to one pitcher named Brian Moehler.

Nice!!! A tenth of our salary goes to Brian Moehler.

Well that's a horse of another color.

I am suprised Loria gave Moehler that kind of money, I now believe Loria wants to put a competitive product on the field and this big money contract proves it ....... Marlins in 06! !!!

I like the move...have at least some sort of veteran presence on this team. Moehler I fully expect to start the year in the rotation but will move to the bullpen once one of the young guns are ready

Moehler's ERA was one of the lowest in baseball in the first half last year till he just ran out of gas and got shelled. If he can get a little more run support this year maybe it will extend his gas tank into the second half.

I hope you're right.

Even when his ERA was awesome, his BAA was over .300. Hopefully, he wasn't just getting lucky.

I think his BAA during that time was lower, still high, but lower... I think like .280. The difference (besides a higher batting average) is that he walked more guys and he gave up more homeruns. The walking more guys and leaving the ball up are a sign that he was tired.

Moehler received $400K last year. $500K is about right. His ERA and W-L probably would keep other teams away, although we know he pitched much better than that the first half. This is a good pick up for the Marlins.

I think we have enough specs on this team already...

:whistle

I am in favor of bringing back Harris if he proves worthy of the position he will be holding out from a young kids reach. But if he is just here to pitch hit and doesn't do the job the first month, boot him and let's go young. As for Moehler, if he works hard (STAMINA) this offseason he might have surprises.

Strange- The Sun-Sentinel continues to say Moehler will make $1.5 mil next season.

Seems like a lot to pay for Moehler. The $500k report seems more reasonable.

No way we're paying Moehler $1.5 mil this year. Nobody on OUR roster can make a million! HAHAHAHAHA!!!
