May 24, 200620 yr I haven't seen too many Dan Uggla threads lately. He has amazed me this year. Who would have thought he would make such an impact on this team. With the departure of Castillo last year, I never thought we would get a player on the same page as Luis. I hope he keeps it up. He has had 16 multi-hit games this year. He has had 8 games where he has had 3 or more hits. He has had 8 games where he has scored 2 or more runs. Come on guys show your love to Uggla!
May 24, 200620 yr Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love. There's nothing you can do that can't be done. Nothing you can sing that can't be sung. Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game It's easy. There's nothing you can make that can't be made. No one you can save that can't be saved. Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be in time It's easy. All you need is love, all you need is love, All you need is love, love, love is all you need. Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love. All you need is love, all you need is love, All you need is love, love, love is all you need. There's nothing you can know that isn't known. Nothing you can see that isn't shown. Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. It's easy. All you need is love, all you need is love, All you need is love, love, love is all you need. All you need is love (all together now) All you need is love (everybody) All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
May 25, 200620 yr He's a gamer. An all-star this year in my opinion. Where are the Uggla jerseys in the stands?
May 25, 200620 yr He is doing very good and impressive... but he isnt luis. still I like him and think he is could be there for a while at 2B
May 25, 200620 yr Author Do you think he might have a shot at making the all-star game? I have a feeling nobody is going to vote for him .
May 25, 200620 yr Kind of the same as Hanley for ROY. All the talk is about Fielder, but Hanley's been unreal. I am a huge fan of Uggla. He seems real nice too, he came over today and signed a few autographs and waved at everyone.
May 25, 200620 yr Do you think he might have a shot at making the all-star game? I have a feeling nobody is going to vote for him . Yep its going to be tough for us to get guys like Uggla much all star recognition at this stage. Vidro and Utley will probably get the nod at 2B. With winning comes all star places, so hopefully in time:)
May 25, 200620 yr Vidro should be the starting NL all-star 2nd baseman by vote. Uggla should be picked by the coaches. Obviously, Utley is right there as well. I think we have a diamond in the rough in Uggla - in the long haul - his value will be priceless for a Rule 5 draft . . . Might go down as one of the better steals in the Rule 5 draft to date. Can anybody name others in years past that have made significant impacts at this level? Hector Luna is one that comes to mind - but he is considered a utility guy.

Well we selected Johan Santana in the Rule V draft, we just didnt hang onto him:)

Johan Santana, Cecil Cooper, Bobby Bonilla. How about Roberto Clemente? Uggla's a beast. :cool
May 25, 200620 yr I'd like to talk to Jeffrey Loria again and see if his opinion of Uggla has changed. Back in the spring while sitting behind him at a game he said they were exploring other options. I think the kids a gamer and am more than impressed with his glove work. Keep on keeping on Uggy.
May 25, 200620 yr There is no question Uggla is a keeper...Ramirez/Uggla is one of the youngest brightest rookie DP combo ever in baseball...I am old enough to recall another with a similar impact in years past... Tramell/Whitaker Uggla is beyond amazing! He has power. He runs the bases well. He is outstanding as a #2 hitter. He is just plain steady and reliable with the leather...He is wonderful to watch day in and day out

He seems real nice too, he came over today and signed a few autographs and waved at everyone. I would have expected that from him, he just looks like he's a big fan friendly fun guy. I think he's loving this experience to the hilt. WTG Dan Uggla Let's Go FISH !

May 25, 200620 yr Uggla has been amazing. I think part of it is thanks in part to the mermaids hehehe... Anybody else catch him peekin' at the girlz yesterday during the game... that was awesome!!! Go Dan - Go Dan - You're our man!!! ** Dude I didn't realize that Girardi was so small in comparison to some of the other Marlins - I saw him yesterday and I was like whoah! Girardi - is one small, feisty, Italian; that's why I love him!!!!
May 25, 200620 yr Joe Girardi had an interesting perspective on Uggla this morning on the radio. In talking with Joe Rose he opined that Uggla's issues in spring training and early in the season had much to do with the birth of his first child and once the baby was born it was like turning on a light switch for the guy. Someone above mentioned he was fifth in total hits this season. If you look at his numbers almost accross the board he's ranked up there in most if not all offensive categories for both second baseman and rookies.
May 25, 200620 yr I honestly never thought Uggla would hit above .260 for the year. He ahs really impressed me and has bene one of my favorite Marlins to watch hit.
May 25, 200620 yr He's a gamer. An all-star this year in my opinion. Where are the Uggla jerseys in the stands? I checked, there aren't Uggla jerseys for sale yet. The guy at the Marlins in Miami Store said they're waiting til the All Star Break to decide which players to make jerseys for.
May 25, 200620 yr Not only is Uggla showing great improvement defensively and a great command of his bat, but he has quite possibly the most awesome name in the entire Major League!
May 25, 200620 yr That's for sure... someone posted the other day The Good, The Bad, The Uggla... it was great!!!
